Getting Pregnant after IUD (mirena) removal?

Did you have any trouble conceiving after having your IUD removed? I have had a Mirena in place since October 2008. We want to try for baby number 2 this summer. I don't know if I should have it removed now, so my cycles can become regular or if I should wait until late spring. Any experiences to share about getting pregnant after Mirena removal?

I have no idea i am also using IUD and not planning on having kids anytime soon. so i'm not sure you should ask your Doc.

Had my first cycle 1 month after removal and was pregnant by month 2. So I was very happy it didn't affect my fertility. I only had it in for 1 year though (it badly affected my moods).

That's what I was most worried about... I didn't have periods while I had the Mirena, and was afraid it was going to affect my fertility. It just doesn't seem natural NOT to have a period, you know? I had it removed because I went to check it and couldn't find the string, and an ultrasound revealed that it was almost all the way inside my uterus. I have only recently begun trying for another baby. My periods were regular immediately after my Mirena was removed, but ever since we stopped using condoms, my periods come a week later each month. When I was with my husband, that's exactly what happened in the few months before I conceived our first child, so I'm wondering if it's not going to be just a month or two longer before my current guy and I finally have a child together. I am really eager to have another baby, and now that my current guy wants it too, we have become even closer than we already were. I have five kids, so unless the Mirena caused issues, I'm pretty sure I'm still extremely fertile. I'm more worried about my boyfriend's fertility. He has a low sex drive.

I had mine in for a year and a half, then when I went to get it removed the doctor couldn't find the strings and I had to have it removed via hysteroscopy... I was so scared that it had done some damage and I wouldn't be able to conceive again... but it turned out it was still in place, the strings had just wrapped themselves up inside. 10 days after removal I had a normal period, and then boom- we were pregnant the next month! Getting pregnant after Mirena removal was way quicker than I expected!

I had my mirena removal in November...still not pregnant yet. We got pregnant the first month with baby number one. Definitely regretting the implant.

I got my mirena removed in august 2010 and got my positive pregnacy test in September so getting pregnant after mirena removal can happen fast! I dont remember the exact date I got mine put in but I think I had it in for a year and a half or 2 years.
