I Have a 9 1/2 month old girl, at what point will she be interested in using a sippy cup? Right now she knows how to use it but refuses to use it.

hey my son likes the straw sippy's, he also has used the nuby kind. i like the ones with handles on the sides for now, so he can hold it better. it does take some time, and a few soaked shirts before they realease how the sippy's work.

my son never really liked having to tip the sippy back so thats why we tried the straws.

We first introduced the sippy without the stopper per some suggestions I read and received. She gets the idea of tipping it back and realizes if she keeps it there too long, it'll spill. Unfortunately, once she gets bored, that's exactly what she's going for. We've tried with the stopper now and she doesn't get that she needs to suck on it. We have to re-introduce the concept now.

My boy has NEVER used a sippy cup. He never figured it out. He uses the straw ones though no troubles. To start him on it, I got Heinz tetra packs of baby juice that come with straws and had to squeeze the juice into his mouth, within a few weeks he didn't need me anymore and can have any cup with a straw!!

We offer DD3 water in a sippy cup in the high chair. She caught on real quickly but gets covered in water too. Guess I should find the stopper so she has to suck to get a drink.

we tried using the sippy at 6 months...he would use it, but didn't get the idea of tipping it back to get the liquid out, so we'd have to help, so i bought the munchkin sippies with the straw...works great and he loves them, but now that he figured out the tipping back thing with his bottle, i may go back and try to use the regular sippy so we can stop using bottles soon

Ava has had a sippy cup since she was 6 months, and she loves to drink her water from it. I have the Avent ones that allow you to change how much water comes out. Right now it is leak proof when you tip it. Sometimes she just likes to chew on the mouth piece, it rubber but very sturdy. Don't worry at first she didn't want anything to do with it, so give it time.

We started Mycah on a sippy once a day at about 6 months. And as of about 3 weeks ago he's getting only sippy cups (except for one before bed which gets cereal in it and makes it too thick for a sippy). At first he would barely drink anything because he had to adjust but now he's great at it! We use Nubby too! I am going to start trying him on the semi hard ones once a day to see if he can get the hang of that. We will see how that goes!

My daughter will be 10 months on the 17th. She has been using a sippy cup since she was 4 months old! We are now taking the bottle away a few times a day and we havent had a problem with it!

My son is 10 months old now and I started him on sippy cups a couple weeks ago. He did not take to the hard mouth-pieced sippy. Then when I got him the munchkin soft-mouthed (I think it's silicone) sippy, he took to it right away. Warning: the munchin sippies are great, but the nipples are a bit soft and he broke through it after a couple weeks. I got the Nubbies version and those have held up better. I hope this helps! Good luck! :D
