How long do I feed my baby jar food before changing to another kind, right now he's getting squash but when can i start carrots for example? Jeremy is 6 months old and he gets cereal in the morning and night and the squash at noon.

I only waited two days between changes.  Now I see everyone saying you should wait longer!  makes me feel like a bad mum!  But jayden has tried every fruit and veggie that comes in jars and has tried potatoes.  I make my own baby food when it doesn't come in a jar...like potatoes.  He hasn't had any reactions and loves his food so I guess I am lucky.

Hi Christine - we were told to wait 4-5 days before introducing new foods so you'd see any allergic reactions. Sweet potatoes gives our little guy a rash, which was unexpected. I read that any kind of adverse reaction - even diaper rash - can be an allergy. Good luck!

I've heard 3-5 days in between and must confess to have only waited two days between some of them! I've also heard that it's best to give them a new food as early in the day as possible- I guess if they are going to have a reaction you don't want it happening while they are sleeping at night.

as soon as u start weaning your baby from 6months u can introduce them to all veg, try introducing to your food so he gets use to your cooking

At 6 months you can start all veggies and fruits as long as you wait 5 days between each new food to ensure there are no allergic/intolerance reactions. So feed away...
