I gave birth to my baby on July 22nd 2008 and I bled for about 1.5 months straight after she was born but I haven't had a spot of bleeding since. I have not had any sexual contact what so ever so there is absolutely no way I am pregnant again. It is the middle of January. Is this normal, has anyone else experienced anything similar, or should I see my Dr.??

I had my boy on July 20th and bled for three weeks.  I'm also breastfeeding and only had my period for the first time two weeks ago..

I gave birth on July 4, bled for a couple of weeks afterwards and still have not gotten my period.  I am still breast feeding though, so I think that's a big part of it.   This is another variable where every woman is different and not really a "normal".

If you're concerned, see your doctor, but I think your body is still just getting back on track.

Are you breastfeeding?  I didnt get my period back until 13 months with DS1, still no period with this one either.  Breastfeeding changes your hormones.  If you arent breastfeeding, I would call your MD.

You should probably see the doctor.  I've always had regular cycles but since mycah was born (7/24) they have been everything but regular.  I've tried starting birthcontrol again but it hasn't help very much.  It suppose to help regulate.  My doctor said to wait a couple more months and if they don't regulate go back to see her (last week said that).  I would at least give the doctor a call.  Better safe than sorry.

I cant say I did have the cramping every 4 weeks until I had my december peroid as for the moodyness I cant say I am always moody. It could be normal with your body not producing the same hormones needed for breast milk supply anymore your body may be adjusting to it but I am no expert.

I have had a simular problem except I had a normal period the whole time I was breastfeeding for the first four months I had my son July 16, and then I stopped breast feeding and haven't had a period since then but some pretty bad cramping and moodiness but have been late for almost three months. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative, Should I see a doc? or is this normal?

I had my bubs on the 17th of July bled for 8 days after. Started spotting on 3rd of sept for 2 days had real period on the 11th (7days) 4 weeks later had 2 days spotting and then nothing until 23rd Dec. I stopped breastfeeding in mid Nov.

All the experts say that your body doesnt return to the before pregnant state until breastfeeding fully stops but then again they also say that all mums are different. You have nothing to worry about I think if it has been a while after you stop breastfeeding and you havent had it then get checked out but otherwise you are compleatly normal.

I had my first child in May 2006. My period didn't return until March of 2007. I was breastfeeding as well as giving him solids. With my daughter, I bled for 2 months, which required a D&C(there was still a very small piece of placenta attached). I was at the dr's to talk about switching birth control and told her about my "mini" periods. Starting in October, I would be crampy and moody and would have slight spotting. She said that since there were the other symptoms, it WAS my period! The D&C was the reason it was so light. I haven't got my "period" yet for January and don't know why. I'm hoping it's just due to stress.

Thank you so much for your help. I was really starting to worry. I am still breastfeeding so that is probably why. Thanks again!

i haven't started yet either, but i'm breastfeeding. there is no 'normal' here. some women start back right away, some when they start to slow down on bfing, and others not until they are done bfing all together. hope that helps some - don't worry though.
