My son just turned 4 months......he's 14.6 pds.....24 inches in length! His father weighed 11-12pds@birth. He's now 200+ solid pounds and stands 6'3! The genes always tell the story of what size/shape a kid will grow into.

My son was born May 29th and weighed 7lbs 12oz, now he weighs 24lbs. He doesn't really eat that much anymore but he did for a while. We do breakfast, mid-day snake, and dinner along with bottles throughout the day. He's pretty pick now though and only eats certain things for dinner and only eats breakfast every other day or so (I was worried but the doc said he was fine). He is a big little guy but his father is 6'4" so I've expected him to get bigger pretty quickly.

My son was born at the weight of 6lbs 12 oz, now he is 10 months old and weighs 25. 4 lbs. He doesnt skip a meal. I feel that he will tell me when he is hungry and when he is not. He usually eats 3 containers of food for each meal plus a 8oz bottle inbetween. But that is now changing with the intruduction of table food.

My son is 23 1/2 pounds at 6 months. He weighted 8lbs 13oz at birth. He eats breakfast (baby cereal around 2 tablespoons and either 2 tablespoons of apple sauce or 1/2 a small bananda). He then eats dinner (baby ceral around 2 tablespoons, 2 tablespoons of 2 different veggies and 2 tablespoons of applesauce) I do nurse on demand. He usually nurses first thing in the morning around 7am then around 9 sometimes, breakfast and then at 1 or 2 pm I feed him dinner at 5 and then he will nurse usually 2 more times before bed. My doctor told me to only feed him twice a day and no more then 2 tablespons of cereal per feeding and to cut back on the fruits and more veggies. I do make my own baby food as it tastes better, I found him very fussy over the jared foods, this way I know what is in the food.

My son was born July 13th (2 weeks before his due date) and weighed 8 lbs, was 20.5 inches long. He is now 7 months and weighs about 22 lbs and is 27 inches long. He eats 4 times a day. He eats at 9 am, 1 pm, 5 pm and then finally again at 9 pm. For breakfast he has a 7 oz bottle, of which he only drinks 4 oz and then I use the remaining 3 to mix his oatmeal (4 tablespoons). Then for lunch its one container of fruit and a 7 oz bottle. Dinner at 5pm is a 7 oz bottle and a whole container of a veggie. Then before bedtime he just has a 7 oz bottle. Spencer does sleep through the night - typically goes to sleep for good around 9:30 pm and sleeps until about 8 am. GOOD BABY !!

My daughter was a preemie... 6 weeks early, but she still ended up weighing in at 6 lbs 2 oz. She lost weight while in the NICU but came home at a nice 5 lbs 13 oz. and now my lil angel is 20 lbs! and 28" long!

we've had to adjust her diet because at one time she was eating way too much and then spitting it all up.

Here's her schedule:

7 am breakfast 2 oz. fruits and 2 tablespoons cereal with 1 oz milk mixed in... and a 4 oz bottle

11 am lunch 2 oz veggies or meat and veggies with 2 tablespoons cereal and 1 oz milk mixed in... and a 4 oz bottle

2 pm snack of just a 4 oz bottle

6 pm dinner 2 oz veggies or meat and veggies with 2 tablespoons cereal and 1 oz milk mixed in... and a 4 oz bottle

8 pm bedtime snack 2 oz fruit with 2 tablespoons cereal and 1 oz milk mixed in

lately we've been having to give her 2-3 oz of milk at  her bedtime snack too.

she passes out right after she eats and doesn't wake up until anywhere from 6-6:30 every morning :)

My son, Griffin, was born July 12 and was 21" long and 8 lbs. He is now 27" long and 20 lbs. He is in the 97 percentile and wears 12 month clothes! Yikes! My Dr. assures me he's just long because he doesn't seem to have an ounce of fat on him! Currently, he's still eating right around every 2 to 3 hours during the day (formula) and is sleeping 12 to 13 hours every night. He has baby food once a day, in the morning.

My son weighed 9 lbs 14 oz at birth and weighed 21 lbs 5.5 oz at his 6 month check up.  As long as he's still on the curve (he's hugging that 95th percentile mark), the pediatrician wasn't worried.  He eats at 7, 11, 3, and 7 with solids at only 3 of those meals (2 oz solids) and 6-8 oz formula.  He tosses his bottle over his head when he's done with it.  I also give him water in a sippy cup one or two times a day between meals.

My daughter was born july 9. 8 pounds even. She is now 21 pounds 4 ounces. She eats breakfast lunch and dinner. As well as 25 oz of milk a day. But she is also 28.5 inches long. Her doc told us not to worry. Besides a lot of it will burn off once they start to walk.

My daughter was not small at birth. She was 9 pounds. She was 18 pounds 12 ounces at 6 months. She eats breakfast lunch and dinner.. usually 3 bottles a day with only 4-5 ounces of formula and has a 4 ounce container of yogurt around 730 or 8 o'clock. She still gets up at least once during the night and has another bottle. So i dont think its unusual for this routine. I think if they weigh more they want to eat more to be more satisfied. Keep me updated.

Our son was 22 lbs at 4 1/2 months and then stayed there until about 6 months--he is now 6 1/2 months and 23 1/2 lbs--he is on breastmilk in am, 3 tbsp cereal at 9:30 with 1 tbsp fruit, breastmilk at 11 and nap, baby mummum rice rusks and breastmilk at 1, breastmilk at 4, 3 tbsp cereal and 2 tbsp veggie at 5pm, then breastmilk and to bed at about 6:45 ish. He really started to "slim" down when he started to roll, sit up etc.

[deleted account]

my son is the same way... He was 7lbs. 6 oz. and 20 inches when he was born July 14th. He will be 7 months in a few days and weighs 21lbs. and is 29inches long! He has three meals a day breakfast, lunch and dinner... and then a bedtime bottle of 8 ounces. All my friends have girls that are six months older than he is and they are sooo tiny! He is bigger and taller than they are!

He has 6oz bottles and 1 meal with cereal and vegetable he likes them all. But he still wakes up 3 times a night for a bottle. Tried everything to get him to sleep through the night but let him cry for an hour. Can't handle it.

My son was born on July 2nd and was 7lbs and 7 oz and now weighs 24 lbs!  We  feed him whenever he is hungry.  We make our own baby food so I know he isn't getting anything bad for him, he is just fat!  I think it is adorable and I know that when he starts walking it will all come off!  Just realize that if you have a big baby, he may skip the crawling stage and go straight to walking!  My older son did!

mine was born July 13. He was 7lbs 1 oz and is now 22 1/2lbs at 6 months 3 weeks. Hes not chunky though which is funny, he is very tall (as you can see in his picture on here). Most people think he is about 1 year, lol. He does wear 12 month clothing though. He eats 2 jars of food a day, 1 at about 10-11am and one about 630pm for diner. Other than that he gets about 6 bottles of formula 5-6oz each in  24 hour period.

Maybe this was the month for all the "biggies" to be born?!  My little guy Jackson was born at 35 weeks and 5 days gestation and weighed in at 7lb 7 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. At his 6 month appt he weighed 22.63 lbs and was over 28 inches long.  He was the average weight of a 12 mo. old and the average length of a 10 month old.  He's on goat's milk rather than breastmilk or formula and has only been eating green and yellow veggies so far.  He is very serious about the cereal bottle each morning and night and loves to interact with the family at the dinner table.  I can't help it, I call him little Tubby. :)

Yeah my little boy Noah was  big but strong too. He managed to sit etc and seemed to want to walk etc. Because he was heavier than most his age he  walked around holding things for months and months. We thought he would never get there but he did, later than some, but I guess he was practicing and building up the strength himself first as he had a bit more to keep up. I wouldn't worry too much unless they are getting near their first birthday then I would defo get checked out, but my guess is he will be doing it all way before and you will wonder what you worried about.

hi there my bub is big and he is in the same boat. we r in physio and they said that as the bigger bubs alo have bigger heavier heads they usually take a little longer as it requires more upper body strength and naturally the more u have to lift the harder it is ther r a few things we got told to do that would encourage sitting such as making a car out of a box or washing basket and putting something exciting at the front of it which will aid bub to gain balance and strength. giving toys, rattles etc to bub at bubs shoulder height will encourage more upper body strength as it's like us doing arm raises and if u do them enough times u feel the muscles working well it's same for bub. hope this is of some help to u.

She usually wakes up once or twice at night and has 2-4oz of formula. She eats alot! She has to be over 20lbs now, I'll fin dout for sure in a week or two. Do other babies this age eat so many bottles? She loves baby food and will eat a jar of it but she always wants a bottle afterwards.

my son is 6 1/2 month and weighs 15lb  he was 8lb 10oz at birth but milk intolerant and dropped to 7lb at  2weeks old.

he has a bottle at 7am then a bottle at 11am then a rusk then at 2pm he has a pot of food with a drink, then about 4pm another bottle then one at 7.30pm then he has a bowl of baby rice and a bottle then bed!   just think every baby is different!

i get varied comments about his size it depends what he has on! some people in the winter when he is wrapped up have said hes a big boy and some people think hes only small.   my friend has a 7week old the same size as him at 15lb x

Quoting Laura:

My daughter was born on July 26th at 9.2 pounds and she last weighed 20.2 pounds.. .so YES... i know what you're going through and I too have the biceps to prove it! She has started eating rice cereal and just started eating carrots and I'm finding that she's eating less breast milk, however still wakes up a couple times a night for small feedings. As much as it's frustrating because of clothing reasons... we should be thankful that we have babies that have lots of chubb!! It's so adorable and we know they are healthy and eating well!!

yeah Laura  I know the feeling. Clothes has been an issue. It has been difficult to get my daughters little legs in any trousers, unless they are for a 3 year old and therefore way too long.  I have tho been quite clever and bought her 2-5 year old girls three quarter length leggins and because they stretch she wears them as trousers. Hopefully when she is nearer the age on the clothes they will fit still as the leggins they were designed to be. 6 year old girls tops also have been perfect long dresses on hot days and she should get to wear them again. Not when she is 6 though I bet but when she is four prob as she is tall for her age. So in the long run it should be cheeper.  Only prob is now she is moving more she is beginning to slim down and things that were tight are now getting baggy, so guess I may not be on here much longer ;-)
