I have twins and they both still sleep in the sleep positioner in their own cribs. I keep them in the sleep sacks also. Does anyone have advise on napping in the crib without this great invention. They are getting too big! It takes them forever to fall asleep if they aren't in the positioner.

My July twins never had a sleep positioner. They first slept in boppy chairs for mommy's santity. End of October into November we started weaning them back into their cribs. At first they would constantly kick off the blankets so we started dressing them warmer in their cribs. Now for the most part the blankets stay tucked in. We do have a video monitor so we can keep an eye on them when we feel we need to. They starting formal naptimes in their cribs at the end of December. they use to nap all day wherever they were which was their swings most of the time. Now that they are on formal naps there is no problems having them sleep in the cribs and they nap at least 2 hours twice a day with a possiblity of a third nap for an hour or 2.

My son still sleeps on his back but will roll onto his side and usually sleeps most of the night on his side.  I also just use a blanket to cover up my son in his crib.  He never really liked his sleep positioner so we only used it for a month or two.  He also has a "taggies" which is just a 12 in x 12 in little square of soft blanket fabric with "tags" on the ends that are soft for chewing on...anyways...he will cuddle that too sometimes so if you don't feel comfortable giving them a blanket maybe you could find something small and soft that they could cuddle.

My son's blanket is about 2ftx3ft. He sleeps however is comfortable for him now- on his back, side, or tummy. He don't worry so much about suffocation since he is crawling and will stand up in his crib as soon as he wakes up. You may try putting a weighted box in the crib. We did that for about a month while he was still swaddled, but liked to roll over in his sleep. He still got that closed in feeling, but the box's placement could be adjusted to work with the baby width.

I will probably keep them in the sleep sack. It is the positioner that I have to get them off of. It is cold, so PJ's arent enough, and I don't put blankets because of suffocation. How big is the blanket, and does your son sleep on his tummy yet? Mine are on their back still. The flip over while playing, but not sure about sleeping yet.

Do they have a special toy or blanket they like to snuggle with? We transitioned our son from the swaddler to just wearing PJ's to bed about a month ago. We found that he loved clinging to my robe, so found a blanket with a similar texture. Now when he is getting ready to sleep, we give it to him to hold on to. We also got him used to it by having him hold it while nursing.
