Play time before nap time?

I have read you should have playtime before a nap time, and should not let a baby sleep from the breast, because their sleep is shorter. Has anyone experienced this? Do you have play time and then nap time, or do you have a set schedule?

my daughter always plays before nap time, we dont have a set scedual for naps but she does have a nap mid morning and mid afternoon, she is a very active baby so when she wakes in the am she plays in her jumperoo for about an hr to an hr and a half, then has some cereal, and more play time in her highchair. then usually a little bit of bottle some play time on the floor, or in her crib and then has a little more bottle and then goes for about an hr nap. wakes up and we do it all over again. my husband works from 11:30am - 7:30 pm, so she plays with him when he gets home. I know the play time tires her out and is ready for a little bottle and a nap.

Thanks Bridgette, books might definitely help! How long does your little one sleep during nap time?

I do books before nap time, it helps to calm her down, and she falls alseep with a bottle before bed, but not naps and she sleeps longer at night time then naps... obviously.  :)
