Has anyone had a portrait done at Sears? I am torn between going to Sears and one of the more expensive photography chains.

I go there every 2-3 months with my baby.
I ALWAYS use those coupons for 7.99 - 38 photos (same pose). It is in all magazines. It is super cheap and I get to have some professional photos done. The only down is that you have to choose only one pose - they take about 10-15. But you can use the coupon everyday (once a day), so you can go back the next day for more and choose another one for 7.99.
The pictures always come out good.

I used to work at Sears Studio here where I live! Only reason I left was because I got put on bed rest! But before I started working there, it was the only place I would take my daughter! They listen to what you have to say, they don't rush you and they can do so much to your pictures, its amazing! In the past few months I have taken my kids to another photographer but its just to get something different! I do reccommend Sears! Tell them what you want and they will do it!

I have used them the pictures turned out good but the photographer was to busy worrying about the other customers than focusing on our pictures.

I've gone there four times now and do like them. I was lucky to get a photographer that knew the style I was looking for. For instance, I like the more casual "life" shots, they don't need to posed and formal looking. So if you choose Sears, make sure to note what you want and have them match up the right person to take your session.
As far as getting those milestone months, 3 - 6 - 9 they were fine. We'll take her back for her 1 year as well. Here is the difference with them and expensive studios. The expensive ones will have a list of certain poses that they traditionally do every time. Sears has employees that may perfer a certain pose or have limited knowledge of the style of poses that you like. I did my homework, but only because I'd gone to other studios before Sears that I was ill prepared for. I went to the online site and browsed the backgrounds and looked at the gallery they have to find the poses that I liked. You can print yours off and show the photographer. They will do everything you want, even clothes changes. We are never rushed to get thru the session and they are snap happy so there are no limits to how many pictures they'll take or that your allowed.
Something else I like, is that they have portrait packages that exclude the fine art option so its affordable. AND they do take multiple coupons that you can get emailed to you or find in the magazines for free 11x13, 8x10, collages and up to 20% off. The packages start at $130 where I live but comes with the photo disk of all your photos taken that INCLUDE THE DIGITAL RIGHTS to alllll your pictures. If you get the Silver package all the enhancements are on the disk as well. What I like, is that my photographer will snap some shots for me that I'll have for posterity but not exactly want in my selected portraits. And since I have my photo disk, I still have it and get it printed elsewhere (photopipe.com) for alot cheaper to scrapbook or album.
I grabbed a few shots of Isabel's 3-6-9 and misc. session shots and posted them to my profile for you. I took her profile one, but all the others were taken at Sears. For her milestone pictures we have her in a diaper cover alongside a teddy bear wearing her coach scarf. (I swear the child gave me coach addition in utero). Hope all this helps!

I have done everyone of my daughters milestone pictures there. We have never had a problem and have been very satisfied with them. I recommend them. The one here is great to work with and will give out ideas for posing, backgrounds, etc.

I have had several familiy pics done in the past at sears. we loved them when we used them. The only reason I don't go there today is beacuse I teach at a dance studio and I use the local photographer we use at the studio. If I didn't know her I would still be using sears.
