Teething powders and gels are good, and freezing teether toys, not good when they have teeth tho! My little girl was teething from 3 weeks old and didn't have many problems, she just scratches her gums with her finger and has 10 teeth now, but a bit of gel or powder is good to settle her down when she gets a bit aggitated :) x

penaten cream is great for diaper rash...we use it and have never had a diaper rash.

our little one chews on all things she can get into her mouth, her favourite being a wooden teething toy.

wash cloths with cool water help too.

I always offered yogurt or applesauce when our little one didn't want to eat because her mouth was sore. The most difficult time for us was when the molars decided to break through (at 10 months) and all four at once. She lived off of cereal and yogurt.

hopefully it gets better for you and your little one.

My daughter just broke her 8th tooth on her 11 month day. We've used the Hyland's Teething Tablets and that's been the only thing that has helped her. She hated orajel and the tylenol didn't really do anything. We have the biting problem, even when she's not teething so I can't really help with that.

I give my son lots of hard toys he can gnaw on. I have some freezing teething toys and he loves to use those a lot. Giving some Infant Tylenol before a nap can also be helpful. The biting you just have to say no if it's something they shouldn't be biting and then replace it with something they can. Apparently it's normal for them to not want to eat much, so just let her as much as she wants. Frozen fruits in a food net might be helpful to her. Diaper rash, I often give my son a bath with baking soda when he has a rash and I use a natural ointment called Calendula but I have also used Aveeno rash cream and it helps too. The drooling is normal, I just ignore it now and wipe it when it's a profuse amount. Hope that helps a bit, good luck! A lot of it is just patience and getting through it! :)

My 10 month old daughter has trouble with a lot of that too when teething...

The hardest one for me to "fix" is the biting...she always wants to bite me, furniture, etc so I keep firmly saying no and remove her, then give her an appropriate teething toy. When she's not eating well, I simply offer a lot more milk through the day so she gets calories and try to find other things that she'll eat. It's hit and miss! I do make sure that she is on Tylenol/Advil, etc and don't let it wear off...if it says 7-8 hrs, I give it again by 7 hrs so she has as little pain as possible. This also assures she won't have to wake up in pain in the middle of the night. For drooling...she wears a bib anytime she's awake :) Extra love and cuddles and you'll make it through!! (I also find that going out distracts her a little and makes life more bearable)

My little girl gets very irritable also whilst teething. I found that she was more receptive to food when I gave her food at a cooler temperature. I would defrost her fruits leaving them a bit colder than usual. The pain was often worse in the late afternoon and evening so and found she was in less pain when I gave her a dessert of mashed icy apple or frozen banana as it would soothe her gums and calm her down more. Sometimes I even added yoghurt to make a sort of icecream when mixed with the icy fruit and she loved it. It helped make her less unsettled for bed time. I also used childrens panadol if she appeared to still be in a bit of pain. For the rash I find Bepanthanen cream works well. Drooling, well we are still going through that as her 6th tooth is pushing through. I would just recommend making sure she has a bib on that isn't too moist and try to dry her face when you can. My little girl has had some episodes of eczema due to the drooling which wasn't very nice for her. Diarrahea - I would just reduce bubs intake of fibrous foods and include foods like banana, rice, pasta etc which are binding and should help harden their stool. Good luck, it's not a fun time. When I see the pain my little girl goes through with the teeth and the vaccinations you realise just how strong the little ones are. I had to have the whooping cough vaccination (1 needle) the other day because of the outbreak status in Australia and was whinging about how my arm hurt for 2wks..........I guess our bubs are tougher than us :)

Teething has also been a challenge for us. I seriously feel like he's been teething since he was 4 months, but he didn't actually cut any teeth till 8 months. I tried the baby Orajel w/ my son and that was a disaster. I've pretty much given in to the fact that it's just something we have to work through with him. In regards to the diaper rash I do have a suggestion. My son was born w/ some complications that caused him to not poop from his bum until he was about 3 1/2 months old. This caused him to develop a sever diaper rash so bad that he actually scabbed up down there. What we did was use corn starch after diaper changes to absorb all of the moisture and we applied Desitin afterwards (highly suggested by my son's surgeons). This worked wonders for us. As for the diarrhea, try giving your baby fresh mashed bananas. My mom always told me that bananas help with diarrhea. Other than that I can't really help much. Good luck! I feel your pain!
