I'm not an overly strick mom when it comes to food but because my daughter doesn't eat meat and has stopped eating vegitables, I'm trying to stick to a healthy eating plan. I sneak veggies in to all her foods and I try to make healthy snacks for her. She can have sweets but I prefer them to be less sweet than store bought and if possible I'd like them to have sneaky veggies in them. So I make her muffins, cookies, and sweet breads. But my husband keeps giving her chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, and those cupcakes with the white filling and the frosting spiral accross the top. Everytime I try to tell him i don't want him to give her that stuff he gets upset and says that it's only once a day or once a week and it didn't hurt him so why can't she have it. I've tried every explanation I can think of but he's adamant that it's ok. I'd rather not introduce sugar at this age, she doesn't need and isn't old enough to ask for it so why expose her to it. Am I being to strict and nagging? What would you do?
