What size shoe does your July '08 baby wear?

I'm looking to buy my son some shoes for the summer and of course I want them to last as long as possible. He wears his sandals without socks... size 6. Sneakers with socks... size 7. I was thinking about buying the new shoes in an 8 so he could wear them all the time but if most kids don't wear 8's until they're around 3 years old, maybe that's not such a good idea. Just trying to get a feel for what's average. Thanks!

In response to Elyse Garrison, My son also has chubby feet he wears a size 6 and I like Champion shoes they come in Wide wich is nice to get over the chubb and Air walk open up wide so its easy to get on.... It was my Mom that found his first pair of Wide shoes and you can tell how much better they fit but how much faster he runs... LOL

My little girl is wearing sandals size 6.5 and sneakers size 7. Some 7's are alittle big. I know you want them to last, but just make sure they are comfortable. I buy hers at yard sales and ebay. It is much cheaper and therefore I don't feel guilty if they don't get used for too long.

my little girl is in a 7 sneaker w/ sock sandals. 6 so i dont think that an 8 would be a bad idea but wat about a half size? maybe that would be better to that his feet dont move too much in his shoes? hope this helps good luck

My daughter is 23 months old and is wearing a 4... but she is also only wearing 12-18 month clothes still. She's tiny!

My son isn't turning 2 until this July, but right now he is between a 7 and an 8 (depending on the brand).

My little guy wears a 6 extra-wide, heading toward a 6 1/2. Size 7 doesn't seem off at all, but that's by my standard.

My son will be 2 in july and he wears a size 8 and has since january. but he's outgrowing everything at the moment, so by july he'll probably in a 9

Wow...Julian has tiny feet! He wears a size 5 and has been able to wear the same pair of tennis shoes for right at a year, now...His feet are like little fat rectangles with buttons on the end! :)

My daughter wears 7-71/2. I always thought she had pretty big feet, but now I know that a lot of kids her age are wearing about the same size. Good question! :)

Wow! My little girl is pretty small for her age, but I mistakenly thought she had normal to big feet. She is still in a 5 and has more than plenty room in the toes on some of them.

my little girl has been in size 8 since feb or march she is at the top of the range for normal to average on the doctor chart. she is very tall for her age.

She has very short, fat feet. Length she would still fit a 4 in some shoes, but usually a 5. However, a lot of shoes don't really take into account babies with chubby feet, so she wears a 6 in some because she just can't get the bulge into a 5 in some styles.

Brandon is a 6 1/2 sandal or 7 sneaker.. We will probably have to buy him larger sandals by the middle of summer.

It depends on the brand. He wears mostly 7 and 8's. He has one pair that is a 9 and fits perfectly.

@ Cindy - Maybe I didn't phrase my question right. I was wondering how many 2 year olds are in a size 8 already or if generally size 8 is for 3 year olds. I understand not every child is the same. Some 2 year olds can wear the same summer clothes from last year while other 2 year olds are in a 4T. I am not treating my child like average, but there are averages and I wanted to know what they are. I found out today at the store that average for 24 months is an 8. Thanks everyone for your responses!

Don't treat your child like average. Every kid is different. Just because cousin sue is the same age and size 6 - do you put your kid in 6 to, you put your baby in the PROPER SIZE SHOE for your baby. IF you need help with finding your baby's size go to a REAL shoe store and have a salesperson measure your kids feet.
Every kids is different, every shoe is different. Some size 7 shoes fit bigger then other size 7's.
Good luck. -
