Lindsey- be thankful that he has let you hold him up until now! My mother, mother-in-law, husband and myself all fight over the very few "cuddles" that Eric gives out! Since like 3 or 4 months I've had to remind myself that he couldn't walk because he would always try to wriggle out of my lap like a toddler who's tired of sitting! I think that what you can look forward to, now that he needs his time alone, is the times when he comes back! Up to now he's been with you because he has to- going forward he'll come to you when he wants to! You're his mom- he will always like you! (At least until he's a teenager...but let's not even start that, yet! haha!) :~)

Yes they grow up so fast. Madey is already crawling and standing up in his crib and getting up on the sofa and now when we old his hands when he's standing he wants to let go!!! :) He makes gourgoeus smiles and does tap tap with his hands but for about a week he's more independant ... I hold him and he's like let me go I want to see everything so I'm a little sad for that part !! Is it just him or your little ones like that to cause I don't want him to not like me anymore ?

I feel the exact same way! My daughter was born, July 15th. And what a character she is, already has her own attitude and seems like she is growing so fast! I love watching her test out new solids and the faces she makes when she HATES something. The only thing I don't like is the separation anxiety. I hate being apart from her and have no idea how I am going to survive going back to work in August. :(

How cute! I know what you mean about growing up too fast... some times i get a bit sad how quickly she is growing up! They are just not newborns for long enough, but im just so enjoying this age. My girl loves nature and we go out and look at trees and flowers and she loves to touch them (and try eat them) and just has this amazed look on her face! Its just gorgeous!

My dd came out babbling!  Now she actually says, "dada", "hi", and "did had" (we think she means "did that" because she says it after she does something on her own.  She has such a personality.....furrowed eyebrows when she upset, trilling her tounge when she's happy, and clicking her 3 teeth together.  I swear she is trying to grow up toooooo fast!!

Oh I agree! Mine turns 6 months on Friday (she was born on July 22nd) and she's just a JOY! Her smiles are so big now and she recognizes a lot of things and people, and also "talks" a lot. I also melt when she reaches her arms to me too.

I know! i cant believe the changes in my girl born 1st July :) all of a sudden she has found her voice and realised that she can get our attention with it... she "talks" and then when we look at her she cracks up laughing! and if anyone claps she thinks they are clapping for her and gets so chuffed with herself! Its just too cute, also she has started to like to sleep on her side or her tummy and is showing preferences for different things, its just amazing!

6 months has been great!  I've had the same experiences you describe with my son.  All of a sudden I have separation anxiety when I have to leave him!
