hmm, i just give my lil girl 6oz of milk with the 3 scoops of formula and she loves it , i know your supposed to wean them into milk but rhya didnt like the consistancy of watery-milk-formula combo so i just went to straight milk with the powder formula mixed in. It probably wont work for all kids, usually that kinda shock triggers an intolerance. just give her cheese and broccoli ( i steam mine until it falls apart) , pedia-sure is supposed to be really good, im starting that next week

My son has a milk allergy so, I've tried soy (but I'm not using it anymore because of estrogen like proteins), and recently rice... because of his allergies and the fact he doesn't like anything other than breast milk, I haven't weaned him yet... I read an article on KellyMom.com that suggested continuing breastfeeding longer so, that's what I'm going to do. Is she still nursing? Perhaps she isn't ready to wean yet

My first son stopped drinking milk shortly after he turned one and it was a real challenge so I know what your going through. He loved cheese like your daughter so we gave him extra cheese and tried to get a little yoghurt down him. We were told by the GP not to worry too much and he will probably start drinking milk on his again. Sure enough he did just after he turned 18 months. He is now 2.5 years and loves his milk.

Quoting Cindy:

If she's not drinking her milk what is she drinking? Is she drinking Water? Formula? or nothing?
My 11+ is going to be wiened starting next saturday. Just like his brother, we are going to start mixing milk into his formula starting with 1 oz for every bottle for a week and building it up to the whole thing being milk. After that we will be phasing out the bottle for sippy cups.
Both our boys currently drink 2 ltrs of fluid every day (milk for the 3 yr old and formula for the 11+ month) each. But that's them.

You might have to mix in chocolate syrup to make it tastey. But try not to make it a habit. Some other mom's here will make you think you're a horrible mom for mixing "stuff" in the milk. But do what works for you. You're her mom not them.

Good luck.

p.s. try only giving milk for meal time.

She drinks about 6 ozs of juice a day. We have started to giver cows milk. She dosent like it  either. I might have to try adding a little ( VERY little ) bit of taste to it..

Thanks

My sister uses Ovaltine.....I think it also has some nutritional value which is nice, and vitamins. You never know, it might work for you.

Just a heads up. My friend mixed Vanilla creamer in with her kids milk to make it more "tasty" and now they are 5 and 3 and thats the ONLY way they can have it. They wont drink it any way. I dont know if you want to try it but you never know they could get attached to where thats the only way they will drink it. She also has to warm their night time cups of milk as well. I just see that its a pain.

What are you worried about with the not drinking? Is it Milk from a cow or Formula? If its the vitamins from Cows milk there are other ways to get calcium and the vitamins. If shes also has water through out the day i wouldnt worry about it too much. My DD is still BF but doesnt nurse often. As for other sources of liquid she drinks maybe 1 10oz cup of water. Sometimes she doesnt finish it. If your concerned you could talk to your Dr about it and see how much She needs per day.

But they dont "need" cows milk. There are other ways to increase the fat intake and calcium intake as well as vitamins.
