hey moms. my daughter is 18 months and has slightly chapped lips. do any moms have tips on anything that has worked for your child (if you have had to deal with this). i know vaseline works but it is just way too messy and my daughter gets annoyed by the gloppyness of it. i try to put a little plain chapstick on her during the day and when she's sleeping but i know it doesn't stay on very long. any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.
thanks :-)

I would also have to agree with the Aquaphor! It works great for chapped lips and even on chapped cheeks and noses. When kids are outside in the cold and get runny noses, constantly rubbing the snot away can chap the nose and cheeks and Aquaphor works great for that, too.

I just try to make sure that my daughter drinks enough fluids throughout the day to help prevent the chapped lips. However, when I see signs that her lips may start to get chapped, I put a tiny bit of the baby aquaphor healing ointment on her lips. She doesn't typically rub it off because when I put it on her, I also put a little on my own lips. The uses on the label do note the product can be used for dry, chapped lips so its safe. I also find it better than vaseline since its thicker. I'd stay away from the chapstick, since I've read the ingredients can potentially be more drying than useful. Hope that helps!
