I'm trying to figure out what to do for my little boys 1st birthday. It's July 3rd so as you can imagine we have some problem booking certain activities bc of the 4th. Any ideas? We don't have any family around and it's mostly going to be co-workers and their older kids that we are inviting. I DO however know that his cake is coming from Whole Foods :)

Donovan will be making a splash on July 16th when he turns 1 year old. I am planning his party on the 17th at the community clubhouse by the pool. He loves the water so after the party we will go swimming. ( He is a cancer which is a water sign) I am a little stumped on his party schedule though he usually takes a nap around 10 or 11 am and his grandfather leaves for work around 1. I do not want the party too long so that he is crabby or too short either. I already have the decorations and party favors and will book the clubhouse soon. I may also get a nemo(clownfish) pinata for fun , a fish shaped cake and maybe fish shaped cookies.

Jaycob will be 1 on July 20th. That falls in the middle of the week so we're either having it the weekend before or after. Thinking of having a beach theme with a sandbox and kiddie pool and lots of beach balls, beach toys, etc for all the cousins (all older than Jaycob) to play with and definitely a pinata!

my daughter's birthday is on the 18th and it falls on a sunday. my husband and i are thinking on celebrating it that day. now we are trying to find a nice park for our venue. Our little Summer Rae will be having either fairies or princesses theme. i might bake a castle cake or cupcake tower. a bouncer is nice to have for kids if u have a spacious venue.

I'd do a backyard bbq. That's what we are doing. My daughter will be one on the 20th of July. Were having her party at the end of the month, and just having a huge celebration.

My son's birthday is July 27,but were having his birthday party on August 7 (which is his original due date) because his cousin whom is 6 days older than him, is taking July 24th for his first birthday . My son's theme is Prince Charming with the whole lion thing because he likes to growl haha. We are going to have about 100 - 200 people, his banner is already purchased its an airbrushed banner with my son's face in the middle with the prince theme incorporated, his cake was paid by my sister and purchased at Goldilocks and we are having it at the park. No bouncers just family entertainment. My father-in-law and cousin will be playing their guitars and dancing

I understand the problem with the date. My daughter was born ON the 4th of July. She is the fan favorite at church so we are planning on asking our church if we can use the building (consider it will be HOT in Missouri by then) and then saying all church members are invited. We planning on having immediate family and close friends, maybe BBQ. Nothing too fancy. Plan on decorating red white and blue. They do make little couches in the 1st birthday catalog that are used as a place for the birthday kid to open presents on and we HAVE to get one of those.

Yea Whole Foods has 4 inch cakes, which are a perfect size for our little ones to have fun with :) They are only $7 and you can do white or chocolate cake with vanilla or chocolate butter cream frosting (with or without decorations of course). That's all I have planned basically, cake for Zion, and little deserts for everyone else. Thanks for the ideas! That was along the line of what I was thinking. Guess us July mommas need to be a little more flexible :)

My son's birthday is July 3rd as well! Neat to meet someone else! :) The whole holiday thing has thrown a cramp in party planning here as well. All of our guests will be camping or out of town! I think the plan for us is a little BBQ and cupcake on his b'day with just us, then the following wknd on the 10th having a bigger get together so friends and family can come. I wanted to throw this huge, super, never-forget kind of party cuz the first b'day is so special but then I came back down to earth! He will have no memory of it (other than pictures of the day) and niether will the guests! So we will do a BBQ and cake and get some water balloons or squirt guns for the older kids to keep them entertained. We will have everyone dish up as they get there and then have Sky open his gifts while everyone is eating. Let everyone play about 20-30 minutes then do cake! My sis-in-law wants to get his cake from safeway but I haven't been so fond of them. I'll have to look into whole foods. I didn't know they made cakes there! Great idea!

I know we wanted to do a barbeque on the the 3rd of July (our sons birthday is the 5th of July). I want his theme to be Sesame Street since I grew up with Sesame street and I love Elmo. So maybe a Elmo/sesame street jumper. Or we might just have a get together. We are still undecided on what to do as well.
