My little boy does not like textured food.....star pasta, any stage 3 food, crackers ect. He will pick them up bring them to his mouth then throw them on the floor. Lovely right.. At his 9mos appt the Dr said he should be eating finger food, I'm trying but he doesn't like it. Anyone have this problem or have any tips??? Thanks.

My son is 9 months and he can't eat stage three foods he gages on the chunks.. Every child does things in their own time.. I wouldn't worry to much maybe in a nother month he'll like it..

I think they just get used to it. My 3 yr old was a hungry baby so we were told to start her on solids at 4 months, she gagged and wretched for about 3 months and then she'd eat anything after that. My 8 month old son started at 6 months and he loved the pureed stuff straight away, as soon as we switched to the next stage he refused to eat any of it, he won't eat rusks but he likes little carrot crisp sticks and now will only eat certain meals and will still eat the pureed stuff, like the desserts and I found out he likes spaghetti carbanara! =) I think he's just fussy (he takes after his mother! I am VERY picky about what goes in my mouth!) hopefully I'll soon figure out which one's he likes. Good luck! =)

LOL My daughter (9months) wretches and gags on oatmeal and greenbeans. The best thing to do is keep trying, I started by giving her the inside of my biscuts and little bits of bread. recently I gave her pretzle rods and she LOVED them. But, I just went to her 9mo apt and the Doc said lots of babies will either favor baby food or big people food. Sounds like your baby just likes baby food. Give him a few more weeks he'll come around

my son hates it too he will gag, he will eat mum mums with no problems but hates the stage 3 foods, he won't drink juice or water either.

Yes, I'm having the same problem, especially with getting our boy to hold his own bottle, and take a sippy cup. I am told, however, that new textures can take them 10/15 times before they get used to it. Stay patient, I am.
