My daughter started getting grumpy and it lasted for a week and she got her first tooth on dec 3 and then yesterday she got her second one:) She was 5 months on the 11th. My son was so much later then her it's nuts how different they are! Limit medications, they might become dependant on them everytime they feel sick/sore.

Good luck!

My son is 6 months and has his first two teeth on the bottom. He was showing signs of teething since he was 3 months (cranky, not sleeping, chewing on everything he could find). They finally popped through, the first one when he was 5 months the second one 2 weeks later. He seems better these days, still shoving everything in his mouth though. I used camilia and infant tylenol.

My son has his two sharp bottom teeth coming in right now as well. He's drooling like crazy. My husband thought he was going to get dehydrated cause there's so much drool. He soaks a toy within minutes. He's chewing on whatever he can seem to get his hands on but no fever or fussiness for some reason but im not questioning it. I do give him teething drops when i notice he's getting frustrated with his toys but no crying about it YET.

My son started teething at 2 1/2 months and he cut his first 2 teeth at 4 months. Now he's 5 months and teething for more, I can feel 3 more wanting to come out. It really sucks that he started teething so early though!

My son, Logan went through that at 4 months! I couldnt believe he already had teeth! Baby ora gel and tylenol saved us from missery! Just a little bit of baby tylenol with ora gel helped him sleep through the night. It was very stressful. Teething pain would cause fussiness and then spitting up or constipation. I hated he had to go through that!

sounds like Audrey for sure! she has two on the top on either side, which is weird I know they're usually on the bottom first. but when I feel them they're pretty sharp and definitley coming through. she's been pretty fussy and ALWAYS chewing on everything. I got her the homeopathic teething tablets & gel, they seem to work for a little while. I'm going to try the baby oragel see if that works any better. but good luck to you!!! it's tough I know :(

I read that you have to be a bit careful with Orajel and numbing agents because they could numb their tongues, and in doing so could cause them to choke. I'm going to stick to pain relievers and teething rings...Gripe water can also be used for a teething baby

My daughter has been teething for a couple months...worse this month. but still no teeth. She likes to chew/suck on cold washcloths, and cold teething rings. I also bought her this soother called Razzberry...its shaped like a raspberry and is all bumpy to massage their gums. She drools like crazy and wants to chew on everything!

I almost forgot! A fabulous invention that I didnt hear anyone else talk about for teething is called a Razberry pacifyer. Its a textured pacifyer that is soothing for the gums while they teeth. I found it online for 6.99 at Moms4life.com and in the store at Meijer after I bought it online. Meijer price is 3.99 in northern michigan. Its recommended for 6+ mos and I noticed my 5 month old finds it awkward but she chews on it pretty intensely.

My daughter just cut her bottom 2. Oh man...it was rough! The day after they cut she was still fussy as her gums were sore but now she is SO happy. Thank goodness.

It does get better...

We used ice cubes in a mesh feeder (her favorite teething toy!), orajel, tylenol, motrin, and teething tabs...they all helped! Good luck :)

You are a genius! My little girl is going through teething hell and the washrags (Frozen) were helpful at first but then she decided she didnt like it.  I tried the meshbag and she loves it!  Ive been rotating Hylands teething tablets, Gentle Naturals Homeopathic teething drops, orajel (once a day at most), and tylenol (once a day) and she is still in so much pain.  I also give her teething toys that had been chilled in the fridge.  She used to sleep 7-9 hours through the night and now Im lucky if I can get 3 straight hours before she wakes up.  Im up at least 2-3 times between 10p and 3p and by 4p I usually give in and let her sleep with me.  I also nurse her around that time hoping it will help her sleep better.  Its also taking her so much longer to fall asleep.  I can start at 8:30p or 9p and she will still be crying and refusing to sleep after 10p sometimes.  Before teething, she would fall asleep within 15-30 minutes.

She only has one tooth, she got it Dec 23 and turned 5 mos Dec 26th.  She slept a lot the day before and the day I found the tooth but then the fussiness started the next day forward. It hasnt stopped yet.  When can I expect the fussiness to subside?

To the teething moms...I asked the peds about what to use for teething when my oldest (now 3 yrs) was teething and they said DO NOT USE ORAL GEL! They said that if you give it to them that there is a possiblity that they can swallow some, causing their gag reflexes to go numb, then if they spit us or drool, they can choke on it and maybe even die! Just a warning, it makes sense but if it works for you with no probs, do what works best. I have yet to use oral gel with either of my children and it has been pretty painless. I would give them motrin or tylenol before bed everynight while they were hard core teething.

My little lady has been teething for a month or two already. We just use a little bit of tylenol, teething tablets, cold/frozen wet washcloths to chew on....She still has not cut yet, but I can see it coming because her gums are nearly white with pressure....Just give them lots of stuff to chew on....hopefully this phase will be over soon

Hi my 5 month old son just started teething 3 weeks ago n his two little teeth have finally broken through the gum thanx to a lot of rubbing of his sore gums they came through with a little fuss. It also helps to use a little teething gel n pain relief and he his breast feed which they say helps them too.

[deleted account]

My baby cut his first two teeth just before Christmas, when he had just turned 5 months. He had been grizzley in the lead up, but Panadol seemed to help! Then one morning we saw he had two little white caps poking through, and yes, they were so sharp! Teething doesn't seem to have affected William's eathing habits though. We started him on solids at 4 months (paed. approval, of course!) and he chows through them. We're wondering if his top two teeth might be going to make an appearance because he has started the same symptoms we saw with the first two. My baby is growing up too fast!

We didn't even notice as he was not irritable or grumpy, we didn't notice till the next day!! We also use the mesh bag with an ice cube in it, He sucks/chews on that and loves it!! You can get them at Walmart too.He is still drooling up a storm and chewing everything!

Well my baby right now is almost 6 mouths and she been teething since 4 mouths old but I don,t see any teeth yet but I see the form of the tooth and it,s hard she won,t take good naps and she eat,s good but very fussy and I give her tylenol and oraljel when I think she needs it and one of those teething rings in the freezer helps. It,s a long ways with babies with there teeth it can go from 4mouth old to 3 years old. I wish I could find something else to help.

Along with all the fussiness and grumpiness, Liam's first tooth arrived on Cristmas Eve. He went through a phase of drooling at 3 months, then started chewing on everything at 4 months and now at 5 months his teeth are starting to come in. We've been using anbesol to numb the pain when it gets really bad and he also enjoys chewing on cold facecloths to relieve the pan.

i use tylenol and teething tablets....i was told orajel slows down the process of teeth coming in cause it what it does is puts a protective coating over the gums which makes it harder for the teeth to push through...i absolutely love the tablets give them a couple of those and a little bit of tylenol and after a few minutes your baby will be its happy little self again

well my baby boy has one tooth in and it was totally unexpected because he never fussed and screamed but he chews on EVERYTHING! i asked my mom about it and she says it could be because i keep his mind off of it by playing with him and showing him new things all the time so try something new, maybe it'll get her mind off of it.
one thing you could try might be jerky, its too hard for them to break so they wont chock on it and the fell of it massages their gums. my baby loves it.

Ruby has been dribbling since she was born and everyone keeps telling me she must be teething. Five months on we saw a glimpse of white on her gum last week and seems to have gone down again. She's constantly got fingers in her mouth so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a bit of movement going on but nothing is coming through.
