My baby boy has moaned & grunted since he was born. Generally he does it when he's falling asleep also. Doctor says he likes to hear himself talk. Everyone is so amazed. I'm used to it now I don't hardly notice it anymore. I like nowing when he's awake & alive.

Anyone else have a talker at this age?

My son who is 6 weeks old always grunts in his sleep and at the time of waking up. It bothers me sometime thinking that something must be wrong with him internally. He is not a sound sleeper.

my daughter has been grunting since the day she was born. I wouldnt worry about it. We find it cute and its a way we know shes sleeping even in her crib.

I DO!!! My son was 9 weeks early. Even though he was born early he still moaned groaned and squeeked. Totally normal totally healthy. I've always had a theory boy's are born with a sound card. They're always making some sort of noise.

My little girl did the same thing. Everyone thought it was so cute. Then she starting spitting up after her feedings. I took her to the doctoor because she was spitting up most of her feeding. I found out she was lactose sensitive and had lots of gas in her tummy. Sometimes when I fed her I could hear the food in her tummy. I switched her to Enfamil A+ Lactose Free. Now the cute grunting noises are rarely heard.

my son used to do that... he growled when he ate and fell asleep from the day he was born until he was almost 3 years old... I miss it now :-(

My daughter Abigail is also a grunter! My hubby and I think it is completely adorable! She will just lay in her bassinet or wherever we have her, happily grunting away and making noises to herself. She also gets super excited and makes lots of noise while feeding....was completely disturbing the first time it happened but now we're used to it and think it's cute.

My daughter Gracie, (11 weeks), has been grunting since she was born. Always grunting. Now she says Ohhh and laughs and smiles and coos a lot too. She grunted so much when we brought her home that my mom nicknamed her Gruntsie.

I can definately relate...my baby is 9 and a half weeks-we're so grateful because she hardly cries...even when she's hungry- but she grunts all the time, at first i was so worried I thought she needed to burp all the time but now i realize its her way of communicating. And she sure likes to communicate!!

Yes!, He is making more noises, too. He has older siblings that love to talk to him and he is more than happy to talk back to them. It is a lot of fun to repeat his noises and watch how he smiles in return. I don't care if people are looking at me like I am crazy but I have always talked to my children as we run errands. Like talking about what is on the shopping list in the store and having a discussion about which brand would be the best, etc...I found it has made grocery shopping enjoyable for both of us

My daughter (2 months old) tends to make noises in her sleep. I usually have to wait for her to start screaming to know for certain that she is awake. It is cute to listen to. Just annoying when I am trying to sleep and end up watching the baby monitor most of the night.

sounds exactly like my son! He has only cried twice since he was born. Otherwise, he does ALOT of grunting. Grunts when he's awake, grunts when he wants feed. Grunts while he's being burped. Everyone thinks its adorable. I just figured that was his personality. I like the thought of him being a talker! :)

my daughter alyssas 6weeks old and shes already cooin and grunting and babbling up a storm if your not payin attention to her shell coo or grunt at a high pitch to get your attention then smile... its soo adorible.. i call her baby gruntin lol... i also noticed she grunts alot when shes constipated... shes on similac neosure which is the highest calorie formula similac makes because she was 4pds 7oz at birth (she wasnt a premie either i was induced 9days early) anyhow her doctors wanted her to gain alot weight fast which its worked great shes almost 10pds at 7weeks old but the down fall is she gets constipated and then i have to do a rectal temp to help her go to the bathroom and of course the doctor didnt want to swtich her at her 1month check up cuz she was 7pds 4oz which is the size of a normal newborn soo we're crossin our fingures her changes it on the 28th her 2month check up... until then i have to give her bottles of 1/2 and 1/2 water and pear juice or she cant poop.... shes my lil baby gruntin lol but its funny to hear the cooin and babbling exp because shes soo ahead in the developmental stages which makes me proud cuz most babys are a lil older when they start baby talk....

I noticed our boys and roughly the same age- that's neat! The Dr. said it was, but I hadn't found anyone else who understood or enjoyed it like I do. I know as a mom we like all their individual traits- but i just love listening to him all day!
