I usually just give him some of what I'm eating, no extra preparation needed. Either that or I cut up pieces of fruit. They really don't need purees and mush at this age. My boy has no teeth yet but no trouble with finger food.

i've been dicing, boiling and blending lots of chicken stuff. Basically 50% chicken to at least 50% veg. I've done chicken, corn and broccoli; chicken, sweet potato and brocolli; chicken, carrot, broccoli and creamed corn. The latest batch I grated the carrot and broccoli and i haven't needed to mash it, K eats it fine. Other recipies i've done are just pureed veg (plain or mixed), beef, carrot, peas (not a hit) and I've just boiled a lot of pork mince and frozen it in mini-muffin trays, then popped them out and froze them in containers.

I did it with my son who is 2 and now my daughter. I have two books. The petit appetit and Super Baby Food. I currently steam then puree in batches and freeze in small containers. She's picking up peas and eating them as well as cherrios so I'm going to start dicing the veges in small bite size pieces and roasting them with a little olive oil to add extra flavor. They say olive oil is good for them. This is the transition to self-feeding and giving her little pinchers some practice. I like to not mix her food to much right now because she's still in the do I like it phase and I want to make sure she's tasting the individual flavors. At her daycare, if she wasn't eating her broccoli or something they would just mix it with banana but I didn't want her to have to have banana every time she ate broccoli. Hope that helps!

I make all my daughters foods, chicken, carrots, zucchini, sweet potato, peas, baby pastina, all kinds of fruits. I just boil, and blend. It's a great feeling when you are the one making your childrens foods. I still give her Nestle Cereal in the morning and night, plus Iam still breastfeeding.

I also have made all my own baby food. I found two websites that were quite helpful.
Try wholesomebabyfood.com or http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.co...

When I had my first child I was pretty confused about what I was doing and this time around having twins, it is just way more economical not to mention better for them. Plus it is pretty simple. I make all types of veggies, chicken, beef, some combinations. Tried to make my own cereal but that didn't go over well so still buying that. But all in all they enjoy meal times. Makes a mom happy to see them eating well.

I have made all of my daughters food myself and she loves it. she is 8 months and 3 weeks old and can eat most things. she loves my chicken and turkey casseroles, all vegetables, cottage pie, lasagne. i have 2 great books- 1 is by Annabel Karmal and the other by Lorraine Kelly.

Hope this has been helpful
