My daughter is 4 and 1/2 months. She used to go to bed around 9 or so and sleep for 5 to 6 hours (sometimes, but more rarely, 7) before getting up to BF around 2-3am, then going right back to sleep and wake up for the day and feed around 7am. Lately, within the last week, she goes to bed sometime between 7 and 8, may or may not wake up at 10 to BF, either way she will get up about 11pm-12am to BF again, and then around 3-4am for a feeding, and up for the day 6-7am. The worst part is that she won't go back to sleep anymore for at least an hour after her feedings at night. My husband and I are exhausted! I don't know if it's because she is going through a growth spurt or what. We are thinking about starting her on rice cereal, but plan on waiting a couple of more days to see how she does.

I think it depends on when the baby has to wake up. My Husband and I are teachers so our son has to get up at 6:30, so he has an earlier bedtime. He is 4months and 3 weeks and falls asleep between 7:30 and 8:00 we wake him up and feed him a bottle at 10:00 and then he sleeps through the night only waking up sometimes wanting his pacifier i am only up for about a minute and her goes right back to sleep.

My son now goes to bed at 7:00pm, will have a dreamfeed at around 11pm then all being well will sleep until 7am, most nights however he wakes up a few times for the dummy but it literally takes 1 min so i'm not too bothered! it was hard work getting him into this routine because he is just not a sleeper...he has always been up through the night but we've got him down to no feeds so next step is his dummy!!

My son goes to bed between 8:00 to 9:00. I then get him up for a quick feeding at 10:30 for a feeding before I go to bed. He then gets me up around 3:00 for a feeding. He's a big boy and is very hungry then. He then sleeps to between 6:00 - 7:00. I did let him set his own schedule.

My son just turned 4 months a couple days ago. We have had the same routine since we brought him home 8pm bath/lotion, 8:30 breastfeeding in his room by night light (nice and quiet so we can both unwind)/bed. Then I don't get him up/take him out of his room until 7am/7:30. The middle of night feedings went from three to two to none very quickly it seemed like. He is now however teething (1 week and counting) and gets up for a QUICK snack and some teething medicine around 3am, but never more then five mins and he is right back to sleep.

We have our little girl to bed at 8:30. She is so good, just lay her down and she goes right to sleep.

my little guy, kadyn, just turned 4 months on the 26th! altho we have been blessed with a child that sleeps all thru the night since day one he HAS started going to sleep earlier than he used to. at 1-3 months bedtime was about 11pm and he would sleep till 6a or 7a. BUT now hed rather go to sleep around 9p and sleep till 6a, then going back down till bout 8a! like i said i think this might be unusual for them to sleep ALL thru the night, I think we got lucky for our first. also i think the SECRET is... letting them sleep on there belly, weve done this from wk 3 probably and ever since... all night sleeper. dont listen to the dr about tummy sleeping. they just scare u! BUT like my mom said, all her kids and all my nieces have slept on there bellies! (and we all slepy thru the nights!)

I am a first time mom and my son is 4 months old and I was wondering if there is a certain amount of milk he should be drinking at this age. Right now he is drinking 4oz bottles with cereal is this ok or should I be concerned that he isn't eating more?

My baby boy slept through from 2 and a half months. But at 3 months he started teething. He is now 4 months and very seldom sleeps through. He will wake up at 01:00 and won't go back to sleep till 03:30 - 04:00.

my son was going to bed around 2 or 3am and waking up around 12 or 12:30pm next day. i would try everything and he just would NOT go to sleep. hed get so fussy if i even tried to put him to sleep, its like he knew my intentions and he wasnt havin it. but recently we havent really been letting him sleep in the day time as much and finally tonight he was out by around 11:30pm-12am. hopefully this will be the start of a new sleep schedule!

I put my son to bed around 11pm, otherwise he won't sleep past 4am. When he starts sleeping 12 hours, his bedtime will be earlier, but for now, 11pm works for me and its working for him too.

I put my son to bed by 7pm, then he has a top up feed at 9.30pm (before I go to bed). We get him up for the day at around 7am, but he normally has a "night" feed at between 4.30-6am. He doesn't have any problem going back to sleep after that night/early morning feed tho and it means I get to get up, get dressed and have breaky before he gets up.

We used to rock our little boy to sleep for almost an hour and it was around 10pm when we finally put him down. He would sleep all nite. When he turned 3months i said stop to all the rocking him to sleep, its time to get him into some kinda routine.
He got used to it very quickly and he is now in a routine - bath around 7pm - breastfeeding - in bed by 8pm. He then usually wakes up around 10.30pm for breast and then he sleeps all nite till around 6am. He used to sleep from 10pm till around 8am but lately i think he is just more hungry. (he is 4mnts next week).
