Buying stuff for the new baby

I am now 23 wks pregnet and have had kept the urge not to buy anything. Wait until the baby shower that way you are not going out and have 50 newborn outfits and you know what you all need for the nursury and kits things like that. we already have 2 boxes full of baby assories and clothes from christmas and my birthday. but wait till your about 32 weeks!!!

Hi I'm also due in July. I don't believe in all that bad luck stuff. What's meant to be is meant to be! I have everything I need for my new baby.I even have the pushchair, which is parked in my bedroom. I always think you should do whatever feels right for you. Ignore what other people say it's up to you.

We bought our travel system yesterday!!! It's awesome and it was actually really easy to put together. The infant car seat is pretty much ready to go (we think...we are gonna get it checked out a couple of weeks before the baby comes) and the stroller is great. It has a place at the top built in for baby wipes (it can be removed).

Someone gave us a hand-me-down crib. I bought bedding to go with and am going to make my curtains for the room next week when I visit my mom. 

Jason's mom is a labor & delivery nurse... she's been buying stuff at the hospital. It was a lot of fun to open her gifts last week. She bought some really sweet outfits.

i just found out monday that we are having another little boy, so i couldnt help myself and bought him a couple of little sleepers. my son is only 10 months old and was born in may so all of his stuff i can use for this one too. he was hospitalized for his first 2 months of life so he barely wore any of his newborn stuff, it's pretty much new! the only thing we need new is a double stroller so we are lucky that way. as for a baby shower there wont be one because i dont need one. i would just end up with stuff i dont really need. i do know though once he's born everyone will go buy him new stuff as they always do...lol. ......i have boughten maternity clothes because i dont have any summer clothes so i've boughten a few summer outfits. i am still in my reg pants and i have a few so all i needed were a few summer things!...

Haven't bought anything really for the baby...I got a shirt from my mother-in-law that did not fit (from a department store) so I exchanged it for a baby outfit. Other than that we have bought diapers and wipes because they were on sale.

Oh I bought a onsie for the baby to give to Daddy...it was for Valentine's Day.

I still have gift cards from our wedding, so I will use that on the baby stuff.

As far as furniture we have hand me down stuff, which is so so so helpful!

I picked out furniture from Babies R Us.  The Jardine Madison Lifetime crib in cherry as well as the changing table and chiferrobe that match.  I registered mainly to have everything we wanted in one easily accessible place.  I registered on MyRegistry.com because you can add anything from any site to it.  It took me a long time to pick out the crib because I did a lot of research on safety, reliability of brand etc. I also wanted a crib that would "grow" with him, even though they tend to be more expensive.

I'm the same way. I said I would wait until I was 6 mo. before I bought any furniture but we just found out I am 2 weeks farther along so instead of being 20 weeks like we thought I am 22. My husband says I cheated...lol. Since my due date changed we won't be going home which means no baby shower so I'm not sure if I should register or not. Where are you ordering your furniture from?

We've only gotten two onsies from baby gap before we knew what we were having.  I've made a registry and picked out the furniture etc. but haven't gotten any of that stuff yet.  The most I've done is install a dimming lightswitch in his nursery, but I really want to order the furniture soon.  I want to set it up and air it out and see the way everything looks in the room in case I want to move it around.  I can't wait!

I only want to buy stuff when I see other's buying, but the urge is to only get the diaper bag, travel system and playpin/bed. I don't know what i'm having but if it's a girl i wont have that much to buy. My best friend is due July 29th and our doctor is taking her July 20th, she's having another boy, great we thought. If i have another girl we can just swap, lol. I dont know if I want start buying. Just stocking up on diapers and wipes... As far as baby shower IDK...

I think there will be a shower when my husband and I go back home (he is currently stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA but we are from Louisville, KY) in May. I did break down and buy a little outfit that a boy or girl could wear...lol. I just couldn't help myself.

I haven't either, but I feel the same urge to buy everything I see.  I don't even know where to begin in purchasing.  Are you going to have a shower that you know of?  Wait to see what you possibly get from your shower. I know its hard to wait.  :)

Yeah My mom said she had a closet stocked with diapers by the time I was born... We are just lacking space in our storage-less apartment!

I have been looking everytime I go to the store but have yet to buy anything. I already have a little boy but he was born in the fall so anything that he wore as a newborn would not be appropriate for a summer baby. I am sure the day I find out I will want to go on a shopping spree.

That's awesome that you got gifts. I have bought some maternity clothes (I just couldn't help myself) even though I don't really need them yet since I could just wear my bigger clothes. Our family is supposed to visit in March so we'll probably get some stuff then. We are supposed to find out the sex on Mar. 2 so after that I'm going to try to talk my husband into just getting a few things. I'm really excited!

I have a little boy already and if I find out its a boy tomorrow I won't buy anything because I already have everything boy since the first is only 21 months. If it is a girl, I am going straight to a store and buying a cute newborn summer dress!!!

Our parents have gave us gifts for the baby at Christmas and one of my best friends bought an little onsie for us but, I haven't bought anything... not even maternity clothes! My sister-in-law just had a baby in August so, I got her hand-me downs. Which I'm totally fine with! Someone gave us a crib that was barely ever used so, we'll be getting a few things soon. I'm totally going to wait till after the next U/S on Feb 11th! :)
