Hi amy, i my does the same i dont know what to do he even gets irritated when we kiss him too much or hold him he starts shouting and pulling your hair lol it might sound funny but i am trying to get that out of him he is only 8months but what a hand full
I might have thought that my 9 month old is throwing tantrums. However, I have 3 older kids (2, 3 and 5 years old). This gives me perspective. My little girl does cry and kick when she is told no or when we take something away. I don't think of it as a tantrum, she is just expressing her frustration in the only way she can. As she gets older the "tantrums" will get louder and stronger, but also she will be easier to reason with.

yeah Ashton throws tantrums. If he has something that he isn't suppose to have like me or his dad's cell phone and we take from him, He'll start bonucing and throwing his hands in the air and bring back down. One time he even fell to the floor and started kicking. I hope he grows out of it.

yes definatly. charlotte throws her head back towards the floor and kicks, especially when she doesn't want her nappy changed. its so hard but we get through it. i'm just hoping this will be grown out of cause i'm scared she's going to hurt herself.

Yes my little man has just started this as well. They are starting to develop their own personality and know what they want. Diversions are very good for this and try to encourage something light and positive. I sing a song or do patty cake so that he knows I am not paying any attention that other behavior.

My 10 month old just started this the last few weeks. He really likes to throw a temper tantrum around meal times. Good news is that its is already starting to get better. I have had to walk away my fair share of times to to get a grip. We have been working on communicating and talking and it helps mom at the very least.

Yes, it would seem that is what it is. My little one does the exact same thing (though she likes to headbutt everything even when she's happy). It's terrible! She's been doing it for about two months, so I finally started ignoring her and she's learning I won't put up with it. I even put her in the crib and walk away. She's doing much better now, and the tantrums only last a few minutes. Of course, they start up again, but not nearly as bad. Good luck with your little one, and hang in there. It DOES get better...I just don't know when :)

hi there i saw your question and wanted to reply, yes my 10 month old does exactly the same if he doesnt get something he has a tantrum a bit like the terrible 2's it sounds like all children go through this phase, im glad to know my son isnt the only one.

Oh my! i am glad to see I am not the only one! Someone told me this was a "learned behavior" and I argued that point because my 9 month old hasn't been around many kids and surely not ones throwing tantrum! She kicks, throws her head back, straightens her body, and clenches her fists! I have decided that as long as she is ok and not hurt I will "ignore" this behavior because any recation to it is reinforcing them to continue doing it especially if you pick them up! I have noticed that once I started doing that she now stops crying sooner and looks at me and then next thing you know she's playing again

my daughter throws fits all the time! she yells at me very loudly!! if i put her down and she doesnt want me to she starts bouncing (jumping) and yelling and crying! ANY time she doesnt get her way she lets me know shes not happy!!

yeah mine throws the occasional paddy but I just laugh at her so she stops when she realises that she doesn't get a reaction from me. its mostly because they know want they want but cannot communicate it to us, I can imagine that to be very frustrating. Distraction is the key!

my little man just turned 9mths old and he throws a little tantrum sometimes when i change his diaper. he'll whip his legs up in the air and slam them down! but i have this look that i give him and he understands it and stops.. it's funny how he understands "the look" even though he is only 9mths.. hey, it's never to young to start discipline!

my daughter has being doing this for the last month or so and shes nine months old now. we try not to laugh when shes having a tanty, as she's so little we dont know where she learnt it, but we do ignore her and she soon gets over it! mostly when we take things off her that shes not supposed to be touching!!

my almost 10 month old son, will hide his face in his armson the floor, kick his legs and start screaming and crying..he does it when he's mad or for fun.. the best one is hen he does it at night when i lay him down, when his grandma gives in, he stands there in his crib and laughs

The only time my 9 month old throws a fit is when she is being put into her car seat (once she is in she is ok) or when we change her diaper, that is her new thing...she screams, kicks, thrashes, and tried to get away the entire time you try to get a diaper on her. We have tried to give her toys, a bottle, or anything to distract her while we change her, but she still pitches a fit.

my son is 9.5 mths old now. if he doesnt get it his way, he cries out loud till he coughs and starts gagging. if i dunt stop him in time, whatever he ate gets thrown up. This has been happening regularly and it's really testing my patience.
As for sleeping, he wakes up intermittenly and cries to beheld till he settles down. This happens throughout the day. If i let him cry, he makes himself sick.
Why are kids these days so demanding?

My daughter throws fits too like when I take something away from her she clenches her fist and screams at me at the top of her lungs. I am assuming this is a normal thing for babies if not I guess we just have butt babies lol but yes my daughter throws fits also. Sometimes she even hits when she gets upset. I usually just ignore her and walk away and don't pay attention to that behavior so she realizes just because she does that she wont get her way.

Yea ethan does it, he's almost 10 months, been doing if now for a couple of weeks now. I just ignore him when he has a tantrum, not gonna let him get his own way by having acting like that. I'm sure it'll pass when he can communicate better with me :)
