My little girl is advancing so well, she sits by herself, rolls everywhere, and even drinks out of a sippy. She will coo and giggle. At her 6 month check up the dr seemed surprized she was not babbling mama and dada! Now I am worried!

Also some ppl confuse babbling fr real words and tell you stories of their lo saying dada at six months..:-) keep listening but donot worry...more thn words its more imp to understand...if ur lo understands n is nt speaking thats perf norm

My little guy is 26 weeks and he says papa, mama, and dada. He also waves bye bye and kisses back (he can't pucker but if I ask for a kiss he will lean and put his mouth against mine like he's kissing). I was looking this topic up because my husband said I love you and our little guy mimicked I love you (it sounded more like I uv you) and gave a kiss. I'm wondering if these are early milestones for his age or not.

Mine talks her head off but it's all babble excpet for a few words. She says Da da and knows she's calling my hubby and she will say her brother's name (eddie) and expects him to talk to her. but she just won't say ma ma...my stubborn little girl...lol she will say ba ba and EET (meaning eat). she sits herself upright in her bouncer and will hold herself that way but won't do it anywhere else. As for rolling she rolls from back to belly and when she's tired of it will roll back but other then that she hates being on her stomach so I think she's gonna be a walk w/o crawling kid like my son was. Go figure...lol she loves to stand up and bounce herself up and down but no steps yet. She will take her bottle from me and drink from it a few minutes then get sick of holding it and expect me or my hubby to hold it for her...my lazy (smart) baby...lol

my son does but every child goes at there own pace i wouldn't worry untill she is between 9-12 months .... and then i would worry. my great nephew is a year and a half old and he only says 5 words and they say at that age.... he should say about 30

yes...he first said those words when he's 7..and i am so happy.
don't worry anyway, if he doesn't say mama or dada yet... one mom told me that usually, when a baby advanced more in terms of her motors, she usually takes time with her speech..either way, tell her pedia your worries!

Well since this was posted in January and its already March, your baby is probably doing just as well as mine. She was crawling (not completely wonderful but doing it) and rolling over sitting and all that fun stuff. She now Can stand on her own and can cruise ( walk while holding things) she was making the baby noises and everything but she has barely learned the whole "dada" and "mama" thing. She is now learning how to repeat things that other people say. She has no clue what she is saying or what it means. But from the sounds of it your baby is probably advanced whether she can say "dada" and no what it means or not. Babies advance different, and if your worried about it there is a website that can give you the information whether she is or not and what babies should be doing. Babycenter.com it has a lot of information.

My little girl said mama on New Years Eve so 5.5 months. She says mama, dada, baba, lala, papa (a person), book, kittty kitty (sounds like titty titty), I get, I got. I think that's all of them.

She is advanced in everything but teething (zero teeth) sat unassisted at 10 weeks, crawled at 5 months pulled up at 5.5 months, and at 7.5 started walking just holding one of our hands.

My daughter says Dada, mama(though usually while crying, MaaaaMaaaa!), sometimes says Hi, bababa, she once said Twinkle, and I am certain she told me I gotchu. The latter two are things we say to her. she waves hi, usually when she's caught someone's attention. She has been sitting for awhile, drinks from a sippy cup somewhat successfully, but better when she's laying down. She is afraid she'll fall over if she tilts back. If she gets a good handle on something, she'll pull herself up to stand. She loves her walker, but now she's banned from it. She was 2 months early so when she was evaluated for development and found that she is standing incorrectly. So no more walker or jumper until she crawls and walks on her own. OMG! She's pissed about this. But in two days she's started to roll both ways (she mostly refused tummy time) and will pull herself to her toys. I don't know when she'll not do the army style, but I'm ok with it.

My little one has started saying "hhaaaa muummm mmuummmm" when i come home. I think it's just because every day when I come home I say "Hi momma" and she's copying what I'm saying, but I'm not sure she knows what it means yet :)

My little man is 8 months and although he is a tad behind physically (rolls both ways and sits up well now but no crawling, and he does not bear weight on his legs due to serial casting since he was 1 week old and body cast for 9 weeks....he is in PT now) he is developing quickly in other areas....he says Hi Dad, I yuv ya, blows kisses, waves bye bye, gives high 5, tries hard to say brother..."buber" and yesterday said (plain as day) "All done" when he was in his high chair.....I think tho that this development being a bit ahead can be contributed to the fact that he cannot develope physically right now in many ways, due to his casts.....trust in this, they ALL get there eventually....my neighbor is going to be 2 in August and he ONLY says Mama and Dada....NOTHING else....he too will get there.....they all will in their own time....I thkn they say if they do not have like 15 words by 2 years oldyou should have an eval done.....your LO isdoing great!

Ziva is just over 8 months old. She started saying 'mama' when she was 7 months old. Now she's also saying 'bye' and 'no'. The last one is a big hit! When she says it, she means it!
Hubby is still waiting for dada, though. He's getting a bit jealous, I think :)
Other than that she's rolling since 11 and 13 weeks, sitting up since 4.5 months, crawling since 5 months, pulling herself up at 6 months, walking with support at 7 months. Since yesterday she's standing all by herself. Walking soon, I bet. Gggrrrr, and I get to run after her all the time :)

I never gave Ziva a sippy cup. They don't recommend it here. Baby center here says it's better to start with a normal plastic cup (something to do with holding lips correct?). Now she's starting to hold the cup herself to drink. Only water for now, though, so the mess is not that hard to clean up.
So, I think it's fine if he doesn't drink from a sippy cup. As long as he drinks.

Jayden is 8 months old, he's not crawling yet but he rolls around and lifts himself into a sitting position. He also says the words mamamaaa & dadada and he is very vocal with his cooing, but I don't think he has a clue to what the words mama and dada means. He will not dink from a sippi cup or a bottle, but he'll drink from a glass. Anybody knows whats up with that?

My daughter is 8 mos and says "bye daad" when her grandma tells her to...no one else, just her Nana. She screams "Maaah, Muuumm" when she has a poopie diaper or wants to be picked up. She has been mumbling ma and da and ba sounds for a while now. She now makes ga sounds and will point when someone closes the door and say "g,g" so we decided it means go. Lol. Mostly she just repeats, well tries to repeat the words we tell her to.

My son wasnt saying coo and he really dont like his doctor so he wouldnt laugh for him all he did was stared him. I wouldnt worry about all babies dont developed the same. Like my son is not crawling and he barely like to pick food up with his fingers. He will however drink out of a cup and only a cup if i try to give him a bottle he will just look at it and then look at me like "ma you know i dont drink out of a bottle ima big boy" lol. I wouldnt worry to much about it, Right now

Cameron, we call him "Boeta" is 8 months and advancing so well, he says mamma, umamma and he sits by himself, he rolls over he spin around completely when lying on his tummy and roll over onto his back, but no crawling! He sips out of his sippy, however stil like his bottle when he is really thirsty......and be sure that there is breast milk in there he refuse to take any other supplement.....I have to milk out, he has two teeth already and bite me if on the breast. He eats anything, and love walking in his Brrrm brrrm.

I know it is not recommended, however I do not leave him in there for long times, just when he is really difficult and I need to do something, like prepare the bath for him or get his food ready. He also started on Sunday to clap hands by himself...... so sweet.

I almost forgot!! He spins his little head from side to side when you say "mallekoppie" it looks soooo sweet, I just love the little guy!!!! My life is so complete with him!! He also wave hello and buy, however still with a fist, and of cause love kisses, and kiss back when you ask him to.

Have you ever herard the phrase "Early to walk, late to talk" or it can go "Early to talk late to walk"

Some babies go one direction, and some go the other. My daughter is a babbler and she just recently started to roll, and she needs help to get up on hands and knees, I don't see crawling happening for a little while now.

The thing is your little girl could just do it all in one foul swoop an be more advance than babies her age soon so wouldn't worry.

every child develops at different rates and most of the time those that have better motor skills develop language skills a little later (from what i hear) and vice versa. I guess it takes a while to master each new skill and they have a lot to learn! My son started making fishy movements with his mouth and i was repeating mum mum mum to him which looked like the fishy lip movements he was doing. He then started to make noises as he was doing that action and said "mum mum mum" really loudly my mum heard it 3 rooms away. He cannot yet sit up properly and is only just able to sip from a sippy cup but that took a little while to master. Enjoy each step they are precious moments to treasure :)

He has reached most of his milestones including crawling, rolling, sitting up by himself, pulling himself up to stand in his cot, drinking both water and milk out of his sippy cup while holding it himself, drinking water out of a regular cup (although usually he gets quite excited so spills alot lol) As you can tell i am quite proud of my little man lol, i'm not worried about when he will talk

He doesn't say anything yet besides the typical babbling but we did manage to teach him how to wave and i think he'll probably learn to say "Hi" first, will see!! It's all very adorable and just enjoy every moment....the way i see it, we spend the first year trying to teach them to talk and spend the rest of our lives trying to get them to Shut up!!
