Im Due July 2nd which makes me 28 weeks. I have been feeling Absolutly exhausted, and I feel guilty because I dont feel that Im giving my 2 1/2 year old enough attention. I just dont have the energy to teach him everything and play games with him like he needs me too. My husbands out of town working and somedays even just standing for more than 10 minutes becomes unbelievably exhausting!! I feel like such a bad mother... is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions what I can do? I didnt feel exhausted with my first one like this and its overwelming.

I totally understand...i had a 2.5 year old as i was expecting my second...and yest they have all the energy and i did not! So, like you tyring to find a solution, during my second pregnancy, I discovered a little “heaven on earth!” And for the record, I will use it with any future pregnancies – it was that valuable to me! It’s an inflatable airbed for pregnant women. It’s a twin-size, inflatable bed with a hole in the middle which allows you to lie on your side or stomach comfortably! Before I began using it, I would use about 5-6 pillows to support my back, hips, and legs. The pillows would only last about 2-3 hours and then I’d have to move or go to the bathroom. I’d have to constantly manipulate the pillows until they were just right and then hope I could get to sleep fast to maximize my pillow support. Then I ordered and began using the airbed in my 6th month of pregnancy. I found I could not live without it! The first night I used it, I got up only once and I was able to sleep soundly for 6 hours! What a pleasure! The air evenly distributed my body weight so there were no pressure points. This meant I didn’t need to move to get comfortable. What's more...with more quality sleep - i had MORE energy for my toddler and was happier most of the days! It was amazing how better sleep contributed to my over all demenor! More enrgy, more patience, more happy times with my 2.5 year old - and in fact - when i think back on those last few months with just my toddler - i have the happiest of memories. We played games, we colored, we went swimming, we did lots of stuff and it was becasue (i am convinced) i was rested!!!

The night before my baby arrived, my stomach was very tight. I suppose I was entering the 1st phase of contractions although I didn’t know it. I slept so soundly on the air bed that I was not bothered by the tightness. When I awoke the next morning, my stomach was still tight but I went about my day normally. When the labor began, I went into it refreshed and full of energy. I am convinced that my sound sleep the night before resulted in a quicker delivery. I was eager to welcome my baby and was in control of my thinking going into the labor.

More benefits that I discovered while using the bed were:

• The “comfort” hole in the middle of the air bed allowed me to adjust positions as my pregnancy progressed so I could maximize my comfort. That support helped ease pressure on my back while I rested on my stomach. This was a wonderful help!

• The bed inflated in about 3-4 min and was so easy to set up.

• It took the pressure off my bladder when I slept on my stomach allowing me to sleep much longer intervals – especially in the last few weeks of my pregnancy.

• It helped reduce my lower back pain during my pregnancy.

• In the last few weeks of my pregnancy, I was using the bed and was getting great sleep! This allowed me to get more done in a day, and I went into my labor and delivery rested and full of energy! This helped me have an efficient labor and delivery which is always a great thing!

Im due July 27th with twins, and I have 3 older kids. Totally understand the exhaustion! My biggest problem though is breathing. I cant take deep enough breathes, so I have to do things very slowly and sit down alot to catch my breath. Im also anemic, so that doesnt help. Make sure your getting enough sleep at night too. I know its hard, but when we lay around too much in the day, we have a harder time sleeping at night. I have to sleep propped up cause of heartburn, and with lots of pillows around me and between my legs for cramps. Not the most comfortable for me or my hubs, but it helps me sleep through the night better and feel better in the morning. Anyway, good luck!! If you find something else that works, let us know!!

lol, yes I can understand, have you had your iron levels tested, are you drinking enough fluid and resting but lol sounds ironic excercising. I am 26 weeks and feel shattered most of the week and it's due to the above. I also have a 4 yr old, oh and stress does not help! Hope this infor does though. Hugs!

i know exactly how you feel i am 26 wks and i have an 11 month old son and i'm super exhasuted most days. i also dont sleep all night either. if it's not my son waking me up i'm waking up because i have to go to the bathroom. i usually try to lie down while he's napping although sometimes there are other things i need to do but i find that helps me. you could be feeling so exhausted because you have another child to look after. they drain you out as it is and being pregnant adds to it as well!!...

Hi Serina,

I am sorry to hear that you are sooo tired lately! Try not to feel bad, you are doing the best you can right now and a few weeks of different play with your older child won't harm his development!! Keep loving him/her the same & they won't even notice!! Has this been like this since your first trimester? I can relate to being tired then but now at 24 weeks I feel good for most of the day. If I wasn't working during the day I could probably nap in the late afternoon but generally my energy is good. Every pregnancy is very different so comparing yours to other expecting moms or even your first one won't really help. I would definately go see your doc and let him/her know that you are not just tired, you're exhausted. I know my doc has said that if I get really , really tired he wants to know about it! Anemia could definately be causing your tiredness, but there are some other things that could too! Good luck and take care of yourself!

I am due July 27 (24.5 weeks now). I have my good days and my bad days...it really depends, I would just relax and nap when you can. Take it easy.

I completely understand! I am tired all the time too. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I don't have any other children. I can't imagine how difficult that must be. It helps me a lot that I can take a small nap during the day. If your son naps maybe you should try to get some sleep when he does. If you're healthy, eating good foods, and taking your vitamins then don't worry. Only 12 weeks to go...just hang in there!

Hi Serina, I'm due July 1st and I don't feel exhausted at all - makes me wonder/worry why you're so tired... and no, you're definitely not a bad mother!!! 2 days ago I went in for some more blood tests, coombs, anaemia etc... have you been lately and were the results ok? Are you taking the right folic acid and supplements? Do you let yourself have little naps during the day and are you getting enough sleep at night? I wish I could help but my best advice would be so see your doctor and find out why your energy levels are so low. Keep smiling though, I'm sure this is going to pass and you'll be able to enjoy the pregnancy again :-) xxx
