How long should it take for my 6 1/2 month old to accept solids?

We have been feeing for 2 weeks now and each time she sees me coming she shuts her mouth very tightly. When I am able to get the food in she spits it out and is usually crying the entire time. Does this mean she is not ready? Should I stop and try again in another week? I don't want to create terrible food associations for her. She is my second and I did not have this issue with the first, she fully accepted the solids from the start

Aww no that does not soundfun at all. Well if the doc thinks everything is fine then i guess thats all that really matters. Maybe just keep trying a wee bit of solids each day. She may just wake up one day and love it.i put my daughter on solids at 4 months and she liked it. then after about a month she kept spitting it out so i stopped for about a week then started giving it to her. now she cries when shes finished all her food cause she wants more. maybe you should try stick to one particular food and gie it to your girl evey 2-3 days ad she may take to it. she is 6 1/2 months. She has always been a problem eater. It sometimes takes up to an hour for her to finish a bottle and she at the most will take in 25-27 oz a day. Dr does not seem worried as she does gain weight and told me that if she does not like the bottle she will most likely like her solids. This does not seem to be the case yet. I have heard that it could take up to a month for them to really take to it? She started teething early and had 2 teeth at 3 1/2 months-which also caused a feeding issue. She still is teething a bit but will drink-just hates to eat so far.

how old is ur girl? are u feeding bottle first or solids? does she have an upset tummy? fever? teething? constipation? allergys? or maybe shes just not hungry enough or ready for solids yet?
