But then today she stoped eating the bottle, she will not eat it at all she only wants her jar food.. But is suppose to be on the forumla till shes a year old, so im wondering if one bottle of formula is enough a day??

Hmmm, interesting to see what others are doing. I also wonder if my bubs is getting too much/not enough. He has 5 breastfeeds (one of these in night) and still is eating cereal, youghurt and fruit for breakfast, 1 large jar and fruit for lunch, and 1 large jar and usually dessert. I have tried to cut down my breastfeeds but he still wants them and also won't touch formula. We have tried everything including % formula % breastmilk to no avail. As he goes to daycare twice a week, I just have to ensure that I express in the night also to keep up my milk supply!! I too believe that he will let me know when he has had enough food and when he is ready to drop the milk feeds.

Of course feed her as much as she wants to eat but I use the book ...baby 411 as a reference and it shows me 8-14 oz for 6-9 months. My little one just started wanting solids so obviously she isn't eating that much but we are going to work on offering her something in that range.

It is true every baby is different, dont get hung up on what they SHOULD be eating and doing at a certain age, my 7 1/2 month ol could have 1 large jar for dinner lasting 3 days, same with lunch, she also has a weetbix with boiling water and formula and an afternoon snack and bottles through the day ,and she has fruit and custard. And yes I do throw the 3rd day out, even though theres nothing wrong with it for the 3rd day. every baby has different appetites and if they arn't loosing too much weight, they are generally ok!!!!

my daughter is almost 8 months and she gets 3 meals a day...each meal is about half a jar...I add 2 spoons of cereal with her second meal...I give her about 5 ounces of formula about an hour after each meal. She starts in the morning with 6 ounces of formula and before she goes to bed she takes 7 ounces of formula. She seems ok with this routine..hope this helps...

my son (same age) eats on average 2xlarge jars and 3xsmall jars per day,but then he is breast fed and doesnt have, boob until he goes to bed, maybe you could try to limit her formula or try her on home made food,my son d:ef prefers this! that said if she is happy and putting on weight i wouldnt worry too much :-)

Your baby will know when she is full, I went to a make your own baby food class last week and they said babies know when they had enough food, unlike adults they are not emotional eaters. =D

I have wondered this myself. My daughter has a bottle and cereal for breakfast, a bottle and a 4 oz jar of fruit or vegetables at lunch, a bottle and a 4 oz jar mixed with a little cereal and a bottle before bed. I wonder some times if I am over feeding her, or if I am giving her enough. She lets me know when she doesn't want any more though, so I guess we are doing okay. It's hard to know exactly what to do since every baby is different.

and just to clarify, my daughter eats 3 meals a day including cereal and a bottle. Not just the fruit and veggie! She does not get a bottle at night as she sleeps through the night and we were told she doesn't need one. She is 20 lbs and 28 in long.. The docs say she is a very efficient eater!

I make my son's baby food, but the amount is about the same. Jack will eat 8 cubes (approx 1 cube = 1 ounce) twice a day. He gets nursed in the morning and at night.

My baby girl is eating two small jars of food a day plus her cereal in the morning. She will drink formula but only 12 to 18 ounces a day. She really is not a big eater. The doctor told me that I needed to start feeding her three meals a day and give her milk in between the feedings. She seems to be okay with that and she is happy. She is seven months and weighs almost 17 pounds. I think it is to each baby own.

My daughter is almost 8 months old and has been eating one jar of fruit and one jar of veggies a day (just not at the same sitting!!).

The same thing happened with my little one. She went from eating 1 jar every two days to eating 2-3 jars per day, practically overnight. I have just been feeding her until she refuses any more food. Our doctor told us that babies this age don't overeat. Their appetites just go up and down depending on their growth and changing caloric needs.

See if she will eat the whole jar for a bit.
Then gradually increase it.

Just go by her on how much to feed her. My son eats like a horse but some days will only have half a jar at lunch, other days he will have a whole jar and want more. Every baby differs on how much they eat, she will refuse to eat any more if she doesnt want it.
