I always used to have a small blow up pool in our toy room and put some play balls in there for him to play with he loved it or I would play imagination games with him a little bit or I would play some muisc for him to dance to or I would let him play in a big pile of socks in our bedroom for some odd reason he just loved to play with the socks more than anything

My ds is 22 months. He likes it when I do jigsaws with him ( i put the pieces in the right place and let him press them down) and cooking.

Cornflakes & chocolate cakes or basic cookie recipes where he can get his hands in and mix things up.

Drawing and sticking.

He loves 'helping' so has his own broom and dustpan and brush and help when Mummy is cleaning up.

I occasionally buy childrens magazines and he loves the pages where we put stickers and draw.

He also loves it when I read his books to him and he can join in on the words he remembers.

I got this idea at our local fair. We have a turtle pool/sandbox, but at the fair they filled it with cattle corn for indoor use. It's easier to sweep up when done and can be something to do inside during the winter months. Just keep it covered so you don't feed any potential mice you may have LOL. The corn makes a lot of noise dropped on metal and can be poured, dumped in a toy truck, etc etc...

I recently bought my son a little fishing rod set, that come with the little fish that magnet on to the rod. he loves it. I put some water in a dish, throw all the fish in there, put him on a little stool and he sit there and tries to catch the fish. He gets so happy when he's got one, and i clap my hands for him and he loves it.. making music together with stuff around the house is great too. My kid loves snuggling too, so sometimes i just grab a bunch of soft toys and puppets and we lounge on the bed, i make funny voices for the puppets and he really enjoys it. Thats keeps us busy for about an hour and then i'll let him his crayons and let him draw.

Craft ideas are finger painting and vegetable printing. Box modeling and cut and stick.

Fun activities are making dens with two dinner chairs and a large blanket over the top or having an indoor picnic or tea party. Also hide and seek with teddy and cake making.
