Yogurt for babies is a rip off. It contains many of the same things as regular yogurt. I think, with anything, you should give him a little, see if he reacts badly to it, and if not, go for it! My 7 month old LOVES yogurt and is perfectly healthy. She has tried the adult kind, petit miam, and nestle's kids brand.... really, it's all the same :)

It all depends on the child but I would suggest checking with a Dr or dietition. My sons Dr just Ok'ed yougurt as well as experimenting with other soft foods at his 6 month check up she said if you look at the ingredients there are not much difference in the baby yogurts and the kind for adults just watch the sugar content. She always says to just watch out for reactions.

Yogurt is fine after 6 months.... you can either buy the "my first yogurts" that are specially designed for their sensitive little tummies. Or . you can just buy natural yogurt and mix in your own fruit purees. :)
It probly isnt too good to feed them big people yogurt just because of the sugar it contains ... xx

There are baby yoghurts for six months plus, but I have also been advised that an organic/natural greek style yoghurt is also suitable in smallish amounts. All cook books when using yoghurt suggest 'adult' yoghurt, and full cream milk for cooking too, so there can't be any harm in introducing it to them now.
