How much milk are your children drinking? And is it plain white whole milk or do you make it chocolate milk? My daughter will only drink like a forth of a cup of white milk but if we put chocolate syrup in it she drinks the whole thing! how about your lil ones?

also, dairy is not an essential part of a childs diet. my son hasn't had any in 7 months and is perfectly healthy and eats a well balanced diet minus dairy or wheat (he can't have those things)

my son drinks a few cups of soy or almond milk every day (intolerant to cows milk) we but chocolate almond milk and he gulps it down faster than plain almond or soy. Silk brand actually has much more calcium than cows milk so we let him have as much as he wants.

My son drinks 7-8oz of whole milk and 2 pediasure bottles each 8 oz (vanilla and strawberry flavor). You can try giving how much she drinks and then repeat it after sometime. OR try other things like cheese, yogurt etc.

My daughter won't drink milk even if it's flavored with chocolate or milk but I don't worry because she loves cheese and yogurt and gets plenty of that a day.

I have a 20-month-old that will only drink milk when she has cereal. We tried chocolate milk and strawberry milk and she wants nothing to do with it.

my son is 19 months, he doesn't like plain whole milk and never drinks it. I give him soya milk and he loves drinking it, about half a litre a day. Though he takes his oatmeat or wheat cereal with whole milk. He love yoghurt too.

MY baby drinks milk only at nap time and at bedtime, and she hates chocolate in her milk, and it has to be warmed up just enough to get the chill off, they always say the pickiest are kids....

Have you tried the growing up powdered milk - tastes a bit like vanilla. My son has it as his first bottle when he wakes and whole white milk at night. Loves his milk, never a problem getting him to have it . Ive never even considered flavouring it!

No chocolate, no way!!!! Are you nuts! Just white milk, give it to her morning and night. Of course she's going to drink it if you put chocolate in it. She would drink it just fine if you didn't. She should be drinking WAY more than 1/4 of a cup also. More like 8 to 16 oz. a day. Anyways, I could go off on giving your children chocolate milk...

mine loves plain milk. i havnt introduced him to chocolate or flavoured milk yet - i'm trying to keep his love for plain, natural flavours as long as i can - then when he decides milk is not his thing.. i'm planning to tempt him with his favorite flavours xxx

My daughter is 19 months and drink Nido nr 1 milk 3 - 4 times in 24 hours. I gave her 250ml at night (sleep bottle), then 150ml if she wakes at night (she sleeps normally through, then at 10:00 or 15:00 (150ml) and with her nap at 12:30 also 150 ml. I dont put chocolate or anything in there, because it is sugar and sugar makes them active.

My daughter is 19 months and she drinks 2-3 glasses of whole milk a day I also give her chocolate milk occasionally but it's a mixture of half chocolate half whole milk to makeit slightly better for her. She's in the 90 th percentile so we are moving her gradually onto 2% but she isn't as fond of it

My son is very small. On doc's recommendation we only offer milk as a beverage so that he maintains a healthy weight. It is soymilk and is not flavored. He also gets a home made smoothy made with banana, whole milk yogurt, and fruit daily. No flavored milk yet so he doesn't know what he's missing.

My son usually drinks 2 sippy cups full of milk a day. He wakes up first thing in the morning asking for milk, and then he gets a cup after dinner. And, he drinks water the rest of the day! He is almost 20 months old now.

try putting the milk in the microwave for like 15 seconds.. not enough to warm it but to take a little of the chill off.. for some reason this works for my son and my friends daughter. he has about 3 sippy cups a day of whole milk. my dr said that he can have either whole or 2 % because he is average weight

my son gets about 18 oz of milk a day, but he has a cows milk allergy so he either gets lactaid or soy milk. He likes them both so we havent put anything in it yet. But he loves yogurt and other dairy stuff. I also cook with a lot of milk so it all works out

My son is 19 months and he drinks white milk all the time. he brings me his sippy cup and I fill it. My guess would be 2-4 sippy cups a day but, also will drink water and watered down juice. I have to watch the fluids because he then will be too full for food. However, he eats yogurt, cheese strings, pudding (occassionaly ) grilled cheese, I just gave him choc milk today for the first time but did half choc half 2%.

My 19 mo. old drinks around 16 to 20 oz. of milk per day. We don't flavor his at all. Well, maybe once or twice at grandpa's house. He also likes cheese and yogurt but we don't give him a whole lot of that. When my oldest son was this age , he wouldn't touch milk unless it had strawberry flavoring in it. I talked to his dr. about it and he said it was perfectly fine because the strawberry doesn't have enough sugar in it to really cause a problem.

My daughter drinks 2-3 8oz cups of milk during the entire day. I only give her chocolate milk as a treat, maybe once a week. She likes to drink pineapple juice (100% from Dole not from concentrate) for lunch and dinner, but I still add water to it to make sure she does not get diaper rash.
Also, whole milk is given to children at this age for its fat content because most children do not consume enough through eating. That is why you will see some older children switched to 2%. Hope that helps! :)

No milk for ours. It's either breastmilk or water. Juice is just sugar. We prefer to give the whole fruit. Cow milk is for cows, I think....

My philosophy is if they don't get chocolate... they don't know chocolate! (once they have sweet stuff, everything else will be tested based on that taste, and that's what they will keep wanting!) I feel this is still too young of an age for sugar. Sugar weakens the immune system.. thus why so many kids get sick so often.

I give my 19-month old daughter about 24 oz of milk in a day...basically a bottle each in the morning after she gets up, once when she takes an afternoon nap, and the last right before she goes to sleep. It's always just white milk, since she likes it. Have not given her any flavor, since I didn't feel the need for it.

My lil man used to drink a lot of milk.. Maybe 4 or 5 toddler cup full a day but now he doesn't seem to like it. Its maybe cause I'm hooked on hot chocolate and most times while I'm drinking some he would wobble over with his cup and ask me to put some chocolate milk in with his white milk. So maybe he doesn't have a taste for white milk anymore but now he just plays with his milk and maybe only drink about two cups of white milk a day, if that..

Have you tried warming it up? My daughter wont drink milk unless its warm. I sometimes give her chocolate milk, we are potty training her and that is what we give her as a reward for going potty.

My son drinks white milk for the most part and every once in a while, I will give him chocolate or strawberry as a treat. I didn't want to only give him flavored milk in the beginning because I knew he would aquire a taste for it and wouldn't want the white milk anymore. He drinks the milk mainly at night now.

None! Since I stopped breast feeding when he was 13 months old, our son refuses to drink milk - even chocolate. He eats whole milk yogurt, I add whole milk to his mac and cheese, and sometimes he'll eat cheese. I also look for other products that have calcium like cereal bars (with lower sugar).

I can't get my daughter to drink milk at all she is still breastfeeding so I dont push it on her. I do offer it to her every couple days she will take a sip and be done with it. She eats plenty of cheese and yogurt that it isnt a big deal. I dont think adding sugar to drinks or food to make them drink or eat things is a good idea you just end up with picky eaters in the long run.

My 18 month old son drinks probably 20-30oz of whole milk a day. He will drink it any way I give it to him. But since he is a little underweight and very active, his doctor suggested that once a day (usually at breakfast) I mix in some chocolate or strawberry flavored Carnation Instant Breakfast Essentials to give him a little extra nutrition. And my son really likes it. Of course, it costs a bit more than just plain chocolate syrup, but it is SO MUCH better for him. For the rest of the day he gets 9oz sippys with 7oz water and 2oz juice (just for a little flavor), and plain water right before nap and bedtime.
