My daughter was born July 26,2009 & weighs 18lbs & is breastfed. Doctor said she is perfectly healthy for her age. I have been trying to give her jar food since 5 months old & she will not eat it. I can sometimes get her to eat it, but I have to distract her with a toy or something and "sneak" it into her mouth. She doesn't spit it out once I give it to her & seems to like it. But she will not open her mouth on her own and if I don't distract her she will turn her head away when she sees the spoon coming for her mouth. It gets very frustrating because she nurses a lot and is still waking up every 3 hours at night to eat. I have tried nursing her a little before I feed her to make sure she isn't overly hungry, but that doesn't seem to work either. Any moms out there experiencing the same problem? I have also tried to give her formula and she wants nothing to do with that, she gags. But will take breastmilk from a bottle or sippy cup.
