Not eating jar food @ 7months old

hi,
I'm also experiencing the same thing with my baby. her first solid food was home cooked foods which is basically carrots, squash, potatoes and oatmeal. this has been her food for a month. now i'm intoducing her to new taste and she's been resisting it. what i'm trying to do right now is to nurse her after eating so that she will be a it hungry before eating.

My son was born on July 31st, 20091 lol...I perfectly understand where your frustration is coming from. He weighs a little over 20lbs...I started breastfeeding but it didn't work out for us, he would inmediately just pass out @ the breast. He's been waking up at least 3 times every night for feedings. There's no way he eats from a jar, lol. He loves mashed potatoes &meat. The only way I can feed him baby jarred food is by putting it into his baby bottle, adding at least 1 oz of water. Its been working for me since he was 2mo when his Dr. started him on solids! Also, in the mornings, I prepare 2oz of milk and I add a stage 2 jar of fruits and cereal for breakfast.Give it a try, it won't hurt....let me know if it works for you : )

Try big people food, just mashed up, like peas and bananas. My baby is 8 months old and won't eat jar food anymore at all, she only wants the real stuff.

my daughter will be 8 months on the 14. she wont eat jar food either except the fruits. i feed her solids and she does fine. she wants something with a taste bc the jar foods are bland. and she has no teeth. as long as you feed her what she needs like babys that are breasrfed are suppose to start meats for there nutrients at 6 months feed her some chicken but if you do feed solids make sure you give her her vegis. and shell do fine

Ive tried LITERALLY everything, every kind of food, at every temperature you can think of, Ive mixed cereal with fruits and veggies, ive doen cereal alone... if you can think it.. Ive tried it...

wow, thats the EXACT situation Im in! My daughter seems so interested in eating what I eat, or what her 2 yr old big sister eats... but she absolutely refuses to do so when I try to give her baby food! Sh HATES formula so shes still nursing, or I'll pump a bottle for her... but I jut dont know what to do... I gave her those little puff snacks and she seems to really enjoy them... but I want her to eat real food! lol

My girl is a voracious breast feeder and loves everything that goes into her mouth...edible or not! Clearly, this has it's advantages and disadvantages, but this means she has pretty much loved everything I have tried to feed her. Try whole foods that smash nicely: avocados, banana, ripe pear. Though they recommend BF at different times than solids for better absorbing of the breastmilk nutrients, try mixing a little breast milk into her food as a transition. Oh, and by the way, despite my daughter eating a fair amount of solid food at dinner time, this has not changed the fact that she still nurses often at night. It is a myth that stuffing a baby full of food will keep them satiated to "sleep through the night", especially in breastfed babies since breastfeeding is often as much comfort as it is nutrition. I thought that as soon as she was eating solids, she would magically sleep 8 hour straight again since she was a good sleeper up until 5 months old. Wrong. Nope. She still wants the boob. At night. Often. I gave up the battle for now and just enjoy her warm little body next to me at night. Though I didn't plan on co-sleeping this much, it has been the best way for me to get my rest and tend to her needs.

my baby is seven months and refuses to take the bottle and turns up her nose at jar foods, lol. She despises cereal whether mixwd with breast milk or formula. I have to give her fresh fruit and she likes the rice rusk crackers a lot, she loves to eat my food too, lol. I can't eat in peace. lol

my daughter is 7 months. but she drinks formula. she hates eating the baby food. the only way i give it to her and she takes it is in her bottle, same thing with the cereal she just gags when i tried feeding them to her. but since she was 3 months we was slowly giving her food from our plates. she now eats rice and beans, chicken, bread. anything we eat she eats it. i dont give her none of the baby food by spoon. try feeding her lil portions of what you eat. its nothing bad. it will be easier when they get older they wont be so picky

Vicki is right on with giving that link, definitly check that out! there is also cereals that u can mix with breastmilk. although im sure you have tried that already. finger foods are fun for them becasue they can feed themselves, but also hard to find appropriate finger foods for a 7month old. my girl likes to hold her own spoon, i just keep dipping it into her food and it finds its way into her mouth adn she kinda sucks it off. there is a type of feeding toy made by Munchkin its like a ring with a mesh sack attached that u can put fruits or other foods in and baby can feed herself just by gnawing away on the mesh. they are also great for teething, u can put frozen fruits in. yum.

my daughter is bottle fed, but she didn't like rice cereal. she would gag too. i had to give her multi-grain cereal n mix it with other stuff....such as fruit since she doesn't like fruit. if you can get her to like something, then try mixing things with it that she's resistant too. also, start out with the formula very thin so that it's very similar in consistency to the breast milk, n keep tryin' one day she'll catch on....good luck

My son is still breastfeeding too. he is eating soild food also. Have you tried mixing ceral with some friut or vegs? Cause there are some food my sons doesn't like. And he with eat the one he doesn't like if I mix them with so ceral or rice. I still some times have to distract him him with a toy but he eats it. He doesn't like forula either so I just mix the ceral or rice with some formula or breast milk and I try to give the formula with his meal in a bottle to get him use to the taste.
