My child is in pullups and he takes it off so he can run around naked playing with his stuff. LOL We are trying to potty train but he wont tell me when he has to go or go to the potty himself. What do I need to do?

We never used pull ups, I think they are just a fancy expensive diaper that says "it's okay to pee in me b/c you pull me up" - go straight for the underware. It's a totaly different feeling to a kid when pee is running down his leg vs/ being absorbed into a diaper. The first few days are going prolly going to be tuff. He's gonna have quite a few accidents, but those accidents will teach him how to recognize the signs his body is giving him that he has to pee. I dont believe in bribing your kid to use the potty. Like "if you go pee in the toilet Ill give you a ___". However, an un-anounced, occasional reward is okay. My son, is fully potty trained except for at night - that's been a tuff one with him. But day time and nap time he's got it down. Well, don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean he never has an accident b/c sometimes he just doens't make it in time. But that's all part of the learning process. Sorry, for the book here, lol I got carried away!

My daughter also likes to run around naked.. it's just a natural feelings for children. She as well likes to play with herself and that's because it's soemthing new that they don't know so they're learning. My daughter couldn't realy wear pull ups because they gave her a yeast infection so once I saw that we did only panties and sometimes if we'd go out for a while I'd put her in a pull up until she learned how to hold her pee and was able to go on the potty normally... it's been a few weeks now and my daughter has been peeing on the potty 100% even at night time.. it'll take some time to get your son good at it but it's just like Jen said you have to make him get a potty routine. I made my daughter sit on the potty every few mins and then rewarded her with a piece of candy or some fruit snacks and eventually she got it.

The easiest and quickest way I found and was told to get him acclimated is wake him up and throw him on the potty. Everyone has to pee when they wake up and so will he. Also I don't use pull ups, I just threw him right into underwear. Once they pee in the underwear, they don't absorb it like diapers so, they are uncomfortable and will soon realize it's easier to go in the potty. :o) Hope this helps! Good luck!
