hi, my baby is 7 months old, she does all the things children do at his age, the only thing that she doesn´t do is take her bottle by herself, i try to give it to her, she takes it for a minute and no more, is that normal???????? and do you think it is wrong to give her food in the bottle??? thxxx and sorry for my english :)

this is not a problem at all. they are not lazy, it is perfectly normal for them to not be holding their bottle at this stage. mine will be 7 months on wednesday and he sometimes holds and then lets go. it is heavy, remember, so they will get used to it. don't stress.

Sorry maybe I didn't word it right. I just meant to emphasise that there is nothing wrong with your baby not holding her bottle at this age. It's ok to still hold her and hold her bottle for her.

yes, i am asking to moms like me that doesn´t breastfeed and give formula to the kids, i ask this cause i have seen kids that at this age holds the bottle with no help...

Why do they need to hold their bottle by themselves? My ds is breastfed, he often holds my boobs, but obviously my chest does most of the holding.

Oh.. okay. I am having that problem with my son, who will be 7 months on the 19th, to where he don't wanna hold his bottle either. He will direct the bottle to his mouth but he'd rather be hands free. I feel the same about because I think they should be holding it on their own at this age, but I don't know also. I tried leaving his bottle to where he will need to grab and hold it himself, but all he does is grumble and I end up holding it because he is already tired and wants to sleep.

my 7 month old doesnt hold her own bottle when she has her jar food she is very interested in holding her spoon and trying it herself but with her bottle she like to help me hold it sometimes and every once in awhile she will hold it by herself for about an ounce then she refuses to hold it anymore. so i jsut hold it for her. before we know it they arent gonna need us to help them with anything. so i say keep trying to get her to hold it so that maybe she will catch on but then until she does just hold it for her

she is her own individual and giving her food in the bottle isn't wrong because that's the only way she'll take it. i would talk to her doctor for suggestions and what not... my pediatrician wants my son to get adjusted to the sippy cup so that he is not too attached to the bottle. does that help?
