shettles method to conceive a girl?

Our first child is a boy & I am now on the first month with our 2nd baby...i have not heard of the shettles method before but im wishing & praying it's a girl this time..

My husband and I weren't trying for a particular gender, however, with my PCOS and irregular cycles, we thought that we had missed our opportunity and had intercourse 3 days before ovulation and 3 days after...just by chance, and we had a little girl.

hi, i really wanted a girl after having a boy 1st so i looked up ways and found the same theory. i watched when i was due to ovulate and then we tried a few days before and i also checked the chinese pregnancy calendar and it tells you depending on your age and the month you concieve. i am happy to say i have 1 of each now. good luck.

I am guessing that you may have a boy again. From what a heard the closer to ovulation you have sex, the male sperm swim faster then the female sperm. But i could be wrong. Keep me updated for what you have. Hope the pregnancy results in a happy healthy baby for you. Good luck :-)

thanks Kayla. for the little that i do understnd about conception - it does make complete sense and i have heard of a lot of women trying this - but not reffering to it as the Shettles method. most of them were ov'ing regularly and using opk's and it worked for them.. but there were a few that it didnt work out for.
i have been a member of a TTC site for many years, and have seen so many women succeed with this. i, on the other hand struggled to concieve for many years and on both occasions ended up having sex over 12 hours past ovulation and dont know what i'm carrying now, but the last was a boy xx

He says to have sex a few days before you ovulate. and then dont have sex till after you are done ovulating. He says that the female sperm are more heartier but slower so they last longer then male sperm. Male sperm swim faster but die off faster. So having sex a few days before you ovulate gives the female sperm a chance to reach the egg. And by that time the male sperm would not be there. He says not to orgasim because it sets off a chemical that kills the female sperm. Also to have sex with shallow penetration, because if in deep penetration the male sperm would get to the egg before the female sperm gets to the egg.

I have heard of the shettles method. I am due in a week and a half with a boy, but our first was a girl. We didn't try the shettles method for our first or second but instead we tried everyday until we got pregnant, lol. We did that for our first as we wanted to get pregnant quickly. For the second we just didn't use protection and when it happened, it happened. I can see the shuttles being somewhat successful in theory, but a lot of work and perhaps disappointment if it doesn't. Good luck, my way worked for getting the girl I wanted :)
