My son (7months) is sick, he has seen a DR and is on antibiotics

he has Bronchitis. Im just misrubble watching him

He hasnt missed a dose of meds but he is so uncomfortable

he sleeps most of the day and if he isnt sleeping he is coughing so hard he is screaming

Im on the fence right now debating weather to take him back in, tho i dont think they will do anything more

He wont let anyone hold him exept me, I havent left my couch in two days!

Please if you have any ideas to comfort him ill try anything!

We just went through this with our son. 12 days ago he was diagnosed with bronchiolitis (baby bronchitis). He was not feeling better, breathing treatments didn't seem to be working. Fever was not breaking, it was actually getting higher! 2 days later, we took him to Children's hospital. His bronchiolitis had progressed into pneumonia.

I'm not telling this to scare you. I'm telling you to trust your mommy instinct. If you think something is wrong - at minimum call your doctor. I called our doctor and she sent us straight to Children's Hospital. They were wonderful there! They took great care of our son (and my husband and me).

Our son is doing well. Yesterday was his last day of antibiotics. He's practically back to his normal self.

P.S. Cool mist humidifier and prescription nebulizer treatments were also used to make our son feel better!

Broncitis is in the breathing tubes a?
Im holding an a-z of childhood illnesses book in my hand right now.
Broncitis is an infection which causes infammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes.
it says that britain has the highest risk due to climate...
Encourage the child to spit up phlegm helps as does physiotherapy (a bit over the top i think)
Place child's head down over the knee's of a seated adult and pat back vigorously.
Hope this helps..Lots of cuddles and time and i hope he is good as new.

My son was the same way last week, I took him to the dr. and she told me that if he started weezing to take him to the e.r. The next morning he was weezing, so wthee took him in to the er, they did some tests and he did not have anything in his lungs, but they did give him an inhaler to open up his airways, if I were you I would at least call the dr, let them know that he is not getting any better, that he is crying and he is miserable. There are thing that they can do to make him more comfy, and make your life a bit easier. Good Luck! Let us know what happens.

You could try a humidifier and see if that helps soothe him a bit. I know it won't necessarily fix anything, but it might open up his airways a little and make coughing and breathing less painful/uncomfortable for him.

Can't suggest anything to help, but hang in there. If you are concerned about your son, take him back to the dr or to the hospital. No-one can make you feel bad about being a concerned parent. You are being a great mum!
