Ok so my son is now 2yrs old so i don't remember this stage too well but my daughter is almost 5 months old and she was sleeping about 7-8 hours straight then waking for a bottle then back down for a few hours. She has now changed her sleeping and has been up every 2 hours for about a week. She is up during the day and sleeps 2 times during the day. She doesn't like rice cereal too much so i add one spoon to her 6oz bottle jsut so she can get used to digesting it and have done this for about a month. I guess i'm wondering fi this is a growth spurt that i forget or if she needs to eat more. This is her eating schedule adn she's pretty close on each feed.

9:30am-4-6ozs

3:30pm-4-6ozs

7-7:30pm 6ozs

11:30pm-4-6ozs

2am-4-6 ozs

4:30am-4-6ozs and then she will sleep until 9am sometimes she will get up at 6am and eat another 4-6ozs...

Any advice on how to get her to eat more during the day and switch her schedule up some. I started giving her sweet potatoes, the starter ones that are like soup lol...yesterday and she was till up so this morning i gave her some rice cereal and she actually ate it! then at lunch i gave her more sweet potatoes and for supper. I got her to eat at 9:30am,1p, and 5pm with :food" and a bottle and then at 7pm gave her a normal 6oz bottle...please any advice so i can get some sleep so i can actually be active with my son during the day?!?!

My LO loves sleeping on her tummy, too. I put a small pillow (like the ones on airplanes, $2 at KMart) under one of her sides so she's not completely on her tummy. A rolled up blanket works, too. I had talked to my doctor, and he said as long as she's not on her tummy, she should be ok. I only let her sleep on her tummy to get to sleep or if she sleeps in my bed with me. As for not sleeping...I don't think as a mother, we ever sleep again lol.

She slept through the night the last few nights! I was so worried...even though it's my second kid lol. I took out one of her bottles during the day. I switched her so she was eating every 3-4 hours to see if she would fill up more during the day but she was waking up even more so now she gets up at 8:30 plays until 9-9:30 has one scoop of cereal with 6oz bottle then if she is really hungry in the afternoon she'll have 4ozs around 3 then eat some veggies at 5pm with 4ozs then at 7-7:30 a scopp of cereal with 6ozs of formula and she sleeps until 8:30 the next morning:) Glad she is doing it but she is also sleeping on her tummy now. She refuses to sleep any other way now and soon as i lay her on her back she flips over to he tummy:( This is why i'm so worried! I'm still not getting too much sleep:(

My daughters going through that, too. But I went from 6oz to 8oz, and she sleeps better at night that way (with 1tsp of rice cereal before bed).

My daughter was doing the same thing and I thought she was hungry when she was waking up but later I figured out she had the belly ache. So I took her off the cereal and I give her sweet potatoes and carrotts now. So at lunch she eats baby food and then I nurse her and then around 6 or 7 I give her baby food again and then a bottle with 2ozs breastmilk and 2ozs formula. Then I give her a bath and then nurse her till I know she is full (when she is not swallowing anymore and just using me as a passy lol) then I stick her passy in her mouth and rock for a few minutes and then she is out.

Last night went really well:) She only got up at 4am and was put in her bed at 7:15 or so. I think maybe now that she is getting "food" it might sort out the pattern somewhat:)

My ped reccommended feeding my 4 month old every 3 hours or so (6-8 oz each time) during the day with one cereal/apple sauce feeding in the evening. She eats at 6:30, 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30 (cereal/ apple sauce), 8pm, and 11pm. And she sleeps through the night once i started her on this schedule. Hope this helps
