My twins have been eating food since about 3 1/2 months. They have taken well to Stage 1 (Gerber) and Rice cereal (Gerber) very well. They have taken to Barley ceral with no problems. I have been trying to switch them over to Stage 2 and no matter how little I give them, they are exploding out of their diapers when they have a movement. They are tired of having to take a dip in the tub after each movement and so am I. They are not vomitting and do not have any rashes so I do not think they are allergic. I just think it is a little more fiber than their little bodies are use to and the prunes did not get them prepared enough for it. I am ready to give up and keep them on Stage 1 a little while longer but then again think I should keep them on the Stage 2 until they get use to it eventually. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance.

My son explodes his diapers every time.. and he is only on stage 1. It ruins his outfits and everything. He has been that way since birth though. Try a different diaper size or brand maybe? Some diapers, like pampers, work best for my son. I don't think it has anything to do with food allergies though.

The advice I have been given regarding changes is it can take up to three weeks for the body to adjust to the change. I have recently moved my son onto Stage 2 formula (S26) and it all seemed good for a while, but I had about a week of very firm stools. He was still managing to go twice a day so thankfully he wasn't constipated, but it made it very hard for him to go. He has adjusted now, and we are back to normal consistency. I would suggest to keep up with it, maybe just reduce the amount for a while and slowly increase it again?
