Swimming?

I rung my local swimming pool who said their classes start at 6 months of age. Although there is another pool i know that starts at 4 months.

Where i am you cna take your baby the day after they are born if you wanted to. We took our son for the first time when he could hold his head up. This is the milestone we now look for in our kids. At public pools you have to keep a "little swimmer" or "little splasher" on them. regular diapers disinagrate in water...try ti at home first lol. If your child can fit in to one of those then i say take them. Our pool is also warm for babies and they have a child pool and a regular size pool. It's right on the base here:)

As long as she got her first vaccination its fine to go swim. Its also depending on a gym you going to. My local gym is having classes for babies from 12wks so im lucky!
Few other places wont alow you to take swim class unless your baby is 4months...

i was woundering about swimming too my baby is 4 month n 2 weeks do they use pampers or cloth pampers ..no pampers ???

I spoke to my health visitor and she told me it was fine to take my little girl swimming and she is only 3 months old as i was told you shouldnt take them swimming till they have all their injections so i asked and she said it was fine as my little girl has only had 2 lots of injections

go for it it's never too young to start them swimming, my 4 month old loves the pool, am teaching her to float on her back, it's great fun for bub and mum, give it a go, i started early with my 9 year old and now she can swimm very confidently and loves the water..when you get out just give her a bath with alpha keri oil or wash, this will help her skin if she has any reaction and keep essential oils in her skin.have fun.

I have had a hard time finding mommy&me classes that will take babies under 6 months though my 3 1/2 month old would love it. I swam all throughout my pregnancy and my baby LOVES baths in deep water where she can float and kick her legs. Some pools like my local YMCA actually use a saline-type treatment that is not as harsh as chlorine so if they will take younger babies, inquire how the pool is treated.

My DD was 3 months when we started Mommy and Me classes. She does not have any problem with the chlorine, but she does get a bath the same day. The class I go to is short 30 min. She is totally relaxed and really enjoys it. The pool we go to keeps the water warm for the babies
I was told when I signed up that the minimum age is 3 months. Hope this helps.

We do water conditioning techniques during bath time. I also use my big tub for floating and water conditioning.

my sister is an aquatics director and has been swimming her whole life. i asked her what age i can start bringing my baby in pools. she told me because of the pool chemicals babies should not be brought swimming until they are 4months old.
