Table food?

What, if any table foods are your 8 month olds eating? My pedi told me it's perfectly safe to give my baby table food as long as I steer clear of allergens.

We give her what we eat as long as it isn't too salty or processed or full of sugar. Cooked veges, fresh fruits, yogurt, rice, pasta. We use a mesh feeder for things like meat and frozen fruit so she doesn't choke.

Search for info on Baby Led Weaning. There are tons of great food suggestions for first feedings of table food. Just remember that "Until they are one, food is for fun" and that babies get most of their nutrition from breastmilk or formula feeds.

My 9 month old (she just turned that) eats anything and everything that we'll let her have. She doesnt care for babyfood, she never has. So because she has 6 teeth, I figured she would be okay with little pieces of things. She chews sooo good. So I try to give her things that would be healthy for her that way shes still eating and getting her nutrients.

My baby is eating everything off of the table. He refuses to eat baby food at all. He is only 9 months and has been on table food for 3 or 4 months. He had a therapist for his feeding because we were having problems eating, and she finally told me as long as he will eat it and its small enough go ahead. Just make sure your baby chews things up or else stick to really soft things. Also you can use a grinder to chop it up.

Ariana is 8.5 mths and she eats wedges of watermelon, grapes (peeled & squished), anything steamed eg carrots, potato, sweet potato, mushrooms, beans, peas, corn, tomato, fish, chicken & beef (both chopped up smaller), vegemite on toast, vege risotto, meatloaf, for a treat she has milk arrowroot biscuits, rice rusks or pureed fruit frozen and it's like a little ice block for her (great for when she is teetheing).
I don't give her things that are made with cows milk like icecream, she is breastfed.

My 9 month old hates anything mushy so she eats everything in little soft cubes. Sweet potatoe, parsnips, squash, peaches, pears, apples and the other night she decided she needed to have some of my fish ( I had fish and chips at a restaurant) she loved it but when I make it for her at home she won't eat it, funny girl seems to only like it with "batter" which is odd since I didn't let her have that part only the middle. Saltines with non salted tops, rice rusks, rice crackers and arrowroot cookies are her snacks. She still gets a good amount fo formula but she loves water out of her sippy cup she drinks almost as much water as my 4 year old :)

My daughter is 8 1/2 months & will eat just about anything. She likes ham sandwiches for lunch & has chicken or tuna with veg for her dinner.

My son eats almost everything and he's just 8 months now. We introduced finger foods at 6.5months and stopped doing purees at 7months because it was just confusing him. When we started we gave him mostly steamed vegetable sticks but now that he has a pincer grasp we give him a portion of what we are eating (we add salt to our portions after we have served him). I find he does best with meat if it is stewed and in large pieces that are easy to hold. He doesn't actually eat it but we figure that he is getting the nutrition from the juices he sucks out. If I really want him to get meat I give him pureed meat spread on toast or pita bread. So far some of his favorites include: tzatziki with pita, roasted sweet potato, pasta with sauce or pesto, jalapeno cheddar sauce on vegetables, minestrone soup (he picked out all the pieces of vegetables and chunks of ground beef), scrambled eggs, peanut butter on toast/crackers/rice cakes, zucchini, carrots and any fruit. The only thing that he hasn't eaten enthusiastically is peas.

He can pretty much eat anything we do..except meat..He can eat the little Vienna for babies the kind you buy in the gerber jar..and he loves those Gerber Little Meals! Meats I try and stay away from because no matter how small the pieces are he just wont eat them!

my son is almost 9 months and he loves Table food. He just chews it up and spits it out basically (he doesn't even have teeth...) he eats little animal crackers and some of those rice rusks, and he has chewed pieces of bread, vienna sausages, green beans, pieces of chicken. He wants to try almost anything off of our plates but I don't give him anything yet with a lot of seasonings or sauce yet. And I am trying to steer clear of dairy and sweets for now. He is breastfed as well and still gets most of his actual nourishment from that and his baby food... but we just let him practice/play with the actual table food.

Our son doesn't really get 'table food', he gets his fruits, veggies and meat from baby food and his cereal. We are going to start making some baby food ourselves since my husband's mother bought us something that does that. I would not give him ice cream. I will not give him milk or milk products until he is 1 year old...I do not want him to have an allergy that I could have prevented. Plus, we are not giving him sugary things, it will just ruin his appetite for the nutritious things that he needs.
I know that you already know but I always like to repeat this one - never give them something round because they will choke on it...like hotdogs, grapes, etc...cut them =)
