My son who is now 6 months and 3 weeks has just started this. When he is sitting (has been sitting just fine for over a month) well he has started to roll his shoulders and do this really weird wiggle thing. Then last night he started to sort of pull his head to the side...like the way and adult would do if they had a strained neck and was stretching it??? Anyone elses little ones doing weird things?

not to worry, i found out that what's weird to us is quite normal to them as they invent themselves. my rocks her head from side to side times and sleep in weird positions that causes me to fret but she is comfort. so dont worry to much

Kimberly- I guess you aren't worried? I guess it is normal for them to try new things. I guess I never even thought about babies doing weird little things LOL!
Heidi- yeah, no boring days is RIGHT!!! Colter just had his first cold :( Sure wish he knew how to blow his nose! I felt like a human walking tissue!

My daughter is doing that. It looks like a owl with a question...LOL. She cocks her head to the side often. She also does this weird thing with her head where she cocks it back really hard...kind've the way a seagull would do to swallow a fish. Its all really funny to me because anything new to her she repeats.

Glad to hear that all is well Danielle they are funny arent they!! They will continue to entertain/confuse us for the rest of our days. No more boring days ahead lol :)

I actually had to call the dr. today because he got really congested overnight and was up and didn't know what to give him. I asked about the weird wiggles and the nurse thinks he is learning new body moves and to just keep an eye on it. When he was two months he started "clucking" and I didn't know what to think! I googled everything under the sun and finally realized he just found his tongue LOL! I have never been around a baby other than my son...I had no idea they were such funny little creatures!!

Our son was doing the same thing on the change table when he was looking at the fan and we honestly thought we were going to have to see the doctor for this one. We kept a close eye on him and he did it occasionally throughout the rest of the evening in different places and sitting/laying/being held . The next day the movemement changed into a much more co-ordinated head shake. He was learning to shake his head side to side (like the no action) and loves doing it still. It scared us at the time but it was all part of learning to use his muscles. I wonder if he is learning a new move? ....has he been watching the wiggles :) Look forward to hearing how you go.

lol my daughter strains as if she was pooping and shake at the same time lol i dunno why she does it, weird but funny at the same time and im not going to worry about it.
