What books/cards would you recommend for 18+ months

I have a 19month old boy who is starting to talk and he loves it when we read to him.

He is using new words all the time (mostly animals as these are in the books we read), and copying what we say. So I thought it might be a good idea to start using some flash cards or books to encourage his learning of new words for more everyday things.

What have you used or is there anything you would recommend?

I want it to be fun for him as I think this is the best way to learn.

Baby Einstein has some great flash cards. I think I have seen them at ShopKo and KMart. My son has some and loves them. They are very colorful and have short simple sentences on them. Not sure what to recommend for books, we have tons of them and my son loves them all. As long as you are looking at them with your son, there is no need to stick to board books, though.
