My daughter just got hers at 4 months and a day old...right after her second round of vaccines. She cried more with her ears than the shots...but I could tell the shot hurt more...think the sound from the piercing gun freaked her out a little.

I dont agree with babies having their ears pierced. I believe that it can be a choking hazard as she may be able to undo the earing. Personally I also think that it looks quite tacky to have a baby with earings. Older children feel so special and grown up if they are allowed to make the choice to get their ears peirced.

At no offense to anyone, because I think it is so terribly adorable having earings at such a young precious age, but I worked at a Jewelry store about 2 years ago and learned that they wouldn't pierce ears younger than 4 years of age. You have to think for a moment that you are piercing an ear that is so tiny. When they go up, will they sit even on the ear? It is a personal choice and so I will leave it to my daughter to tell me, "mom I want to wear earings too!" I think it's a special memory to take your daughter to get her ears pierced when it's something they want and can take care of.

I have an 8 year old girl. I got her ears pierced when she was 6 weeks old, she has had no problems at all with them. I think if you go somewhere that has good hygiene, there shouldn't be a problem.

Does anyone know anywhere in Sydney that I can get my daughters ears pierced?? I have checked many places and they wont do. The earliest Ella Rouge will do is 6 months.

I have a 9 & 8 year girl--doctor said to wait until their 2 month shots. I took them right after leaving the doctors office. They still have them to date.

After she gets her second set of shots(the 2 month shots). I went to Piercing Pagoda. Just make sure you research your choice place and talk with the piercer and make sure you are comfortable with everything

My daughter just turned 3 months. At her 2 month well check, her pediatrician said that her ears could be pierced anytime after she recieved her 2 month shots which includes a tetnus shot. You will need to take her shot records with you to have her ears pierced. Have fun, good luck.

You can get them pierced now. Some doctors offices can do them for you at their 2 month check up. I asked my doctor but they didn't do them at the office anymore so I am going to get them done when she is 4 months after her well baby checkup.

Most of them will not let you do it till she is 3 months or had the second set of shots. My daughter is 3 months and 2 weeks now and I just hers done last friday. I was so happy but she wasnt lol. Clairs in the mall told me the reason they wont do it under 3 months anymore is because they could get some form of tetnis from the piercing.
