Has anyone started their baby on meat yet? he started cereal at 3 months, veggies at 4 months and fruit at 5 months, next will be the meat. He will be 6 months in 5 days and with just 4 more kinds of fruit he still needs to try first I was planning to start meat in about 3 more weeks but I was wondering if other moms have given their baby meat yet or when they plan to, I was also wondering when to start giving him juice.

My baby turned 6 month on Jan.7 She has been drinking juice now for a month. And when I buy baby food, i check the labels and buy the ones that say 6 months +.She eats all of them almost(including meat,veggies,fruits....)She loves it. That's what i did with my 3 year old when she was a baby too.

You should talk to your doctor. Mine said that she could start chicken at 6 months. Other articles I read said that she could have tofu at 6 months and chicken at 7months. You have to do what you feel is right. I tried pureed chicken with potatoes and my daughter gagged on it. She didn't like it. Mind you I am a vegetarian but am trying to feed her chicken so she may not like it. I never did.

I didn't give my son juice til he was a year old. They don't need it I would rather him have plenty of water over juice. Lots of times when kids get a lot of juice they dint like drinking water and I didn't want that for my son I wanted him to want water. And when I gave him juice I would only give it to him twice a week if that. It was more like a treat. My youngest son will be 6 months on the 27th and when he goes in to see his pediatrician I will ask when to introduce Keats. I forgot when I started with my older son.

my son is 7months, was 2 months prem and I feed him pureed friut, veges and meat, hes had veges since 5 1/2 months, he has fruit once a day and meat mixed with whatever is left over once or twice a week. Hes just started on 3 meals a day and acidophilus yoghurt (loves!!)

I've also been hesitant on feeding meat. The idea of it doesn't sit right with me to add it in to my daughter's diet so early, but she started cereal at 4 months, fruit and veggies at 5 months, that I think I need to add meat early as well! I refuse to give juice as she doesn't need the extra carbs and calories, she takes water, so it solves that problem! How much milk should she be drinking then if she is having such filling meals now?

My daughter is 7 months old and I started the meat and veggie mixed dinners about 2 weeks ago. SHe loves them... I stay away from the jars of just pureed meat because I skeeve them... They smell terrible and I just cant feed them to her and I never fed them to my older son either, so I always stick with the meat and veggie mixed foods... I do not give juice to my children until they are around 2 years old... I work for a pediatrician and they recommend not giving juice to babies because it is unnecessary carbs and calories for them and they have a much higher risk of becoming over weight... They would much rather you feed them fruit and stay away from juice.

i was told to wait until 8-9 months, without any reason, i've let my son, who's 7 months today, taste some like when we have meat i'll let him suck on a piece to taste it but that's it. mom's be careful if your baby is suspected to be lactose or is, my liam is suspected to be because breastmilk didn't even sit right with him, but all baby food meats in jars are preserved with milk, at least that's what my pedi gi dr told me. i haven't actually read a label.

We have started with meat veal and chicken and he hates both so we tried one of the second foods which had chicken in it and still hates it, he will eat other mixed foods so we find we have to mix it in with his fruit and he ate it, he doesn't care for juice either.

my daughter will be 7 months tomorrow and started meats last month. She has only had turkey and chicken and only mixed with something else (like the Beechnut chicken and apples)

My daughter likes to suck on meats... I don't want to grind it up for her. lol. She has had ribs and chicken. She ate ground beef too. Just little tastes here and there.

You can start feeding meat at any age past 6 months. A WIC nutritionist told me that at first peditric nutritionists thought that meat should be introduced later but then found that babies would have low iron in their blood as a result. Now they suggest to give meat as soon as they start their veggies and fruits. My daughter had her first taste of meat at 6 1/2 months or so with gerber's turkey rice dinner.

Juice is a different story. Well, watered down juice can be given at 6 months but you don't really need to. It doesn't have much nutritional value and just gets baby used to drinking sweet things.

At my son's 6 mo appt our ped told us to start meats (chicken & turkey first). He wasn't a fan @ first either, so I mix them w/a veggie or into the cereal & he eats it right up!

I've been told meat should be one of the first foods baby's eat because it's easier to digest, like rice cereal. I don't know about juice, but I was told by my doc that babies don't need juice. Ask yours.

my ped recommended not starting the meats until my baby was 8 months old. she said that they are nasty and the baby may shy away from eating jar food if you start it to soon.

I gave my son a chicken drumstick at dinner. He loved it, sucked on it but of course couldn't actually eat it.

My little girl will be 6 months on jan. 15 she is eating all foods (fruits, veggies, meats, and juice). I do have to give her a veggie with her meat or she wont eat it. So i give her a half a jar of each at feeding.
