Cysts and pregnancy?

I had an ultrasound and found out I am not as far along as they thought. Tomorrow I will be 8 weeks and by the original date I would be 11 weeks. They also found a cyst that is 5cm on my right ovary. I have been getting all worked up reading stories and moms having surgery because the cysts don't go away like they are supposed to and they lose an ovary or both because of cysts.

My next appointment is on the 27th. Will they schedule another ultrasound to watch the cyst or how will my pregnancy go now? I am having a lot of cramping with pain on the right side where the cyst is so it has me concerned it is getting bigger.

I had an ultrasound Jann 11 and there were no cysts so they dissolved or what ever they do. The last time I had them, I felt the cyst burst and I didn't feel that this time so I guess it just went away on its own.

Feb 27th I get to find out what my baby is!

Any news about the cyst?? My friend did have to have the surgery and have an ovary removed but she and baby got thru it just fine AND she had another baby a year later :)

I don't know how the cyst will work out with pregnancy, but I had an ovarian cyst that was quite painful in high school. I went on birth control and it went away. So, it may go away on its own once your hormones are evened out. I'm not a doctor, though, so of course talk to your octor! But I didn't lose an ovary or anything, so try not to worry!

Thanks, I know I am not alone though I freaked myself out a bit yesterday reading threads on another site. Many of the women had to have surgery in their 2nd trimester and had an ovary removed with the cyst. If this baby is a girl we are done having kids so it wouldn't be a big deal. 20 days till my next appointment so just have to wait and see I guess and hopefully it won't get too painful like the first time I found out I had cysts.

I don't know, but I'm sorry you have that extra stress, on top of being in early pregnancy, that has enough worry in itself. You're not alone, I hope for the best for you.
