Constant eye blinking?

My son just turned 3 and until now, we've not had any major health concerns with his eyes until this last week. A couple of days ago, I noticed that he's beginning to blink his eyes constantly. At first, I thought he was just experimenting with a different view from his eyes, but after four days now, I'm beginning to get worried. I've looked it up in my What to Expect the Toddler Years" and most mention of this is regarding problems with eyesight. I haven't had his eyes checked yet, but am planning to take him to dr. next week, then eye dr. to have this checked. He says there's no boo-boo in his eyes and he's sleeping according to his regular schedule, so I'm a little baffled as to what this could be/mean.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a child to do this before at this age or what this could be ? Thanks!

I would check with his pedeatrician and see what they think and maybe set up an appointment with a eye doctor. Has there been any other symptoms or just the eye blinking. It could be just allergies or something in his eyes or he might have a eye problem. However I would get it checked because like Christy said that he could a condition like Tourettes. Not to scare you but does epilepsy run in your family? Because my sister took seizures as a child and her eyes would blink a lot.

I have only heard it could be anything from allergies, poor eye sight to a more serious underlying condition like Tourettes....(nervous ticks) Get him checked out and ask LOTS of questions. Didn't meant to scare you.
