My daughter is 2.5 and is potty trained. It's exhausting but so worth it! Get potty time w Elmo movie and the book and be consistent. She can do it. Btw she started by coming w me at 18 mo and sitting fully clothed on hers and playing w the potty flushing and then we took off playing diaper and then we sang and danced and read and sat, and then we clapped and sang and danced and cheered and make a huge deal every time she went/goes. Breaking down the stages and then building up to it w rewards from the treasure chest each time and at any stage is what worked for us. Blessings!

my son is 4.5 years old now. hes been potty trained for a long time. he was a big baby so we got tired of changing his diaper and he was interested in the potty so i started training him around 1. i was in school and couldnt be consistant with it so we stopped for a while. then we started again and within a week and a half my mom had him trained. he rarely had an accident. still has accidents every once in a while now but so rare. this month is 3 years since hes been trained. thank you mama for your help in that!!! hope this is helpful. got a few good tips from my sister too that helped us get him trained so quick.

potty trained since he was a little over 2. he just took his diaper off one day (did this a lot back then, lol) and ran to me to say he peed on the couch. when I checked I noticed it was a tiny bit and that he had stopped himself "mid-pee" lol so I told him if you want your diaper off you HAVE to use the potty (expecting him to want his diaper back, honestly) he said "ok" and ran to the potty and peed. He never had an accident again, as far as peeing goes. now for #2, that was a little different. turns out he was scared to go poop in the potty. he held it for 3 days and then I found him (poor guy) in his closet about to go in the floor (lol) I said do you want to just put a diaper on so you can go poop? He didn't like the diaper suggestion so he said "I'll try" and went on the potty.
He is day & night potty trained, but doesn't wipe himself yet. Mostly because I've got ocd and have serious issues w/not knowing if he got it all :-/
I do have a friend whose daughter is almost 4 and isn't even close to potty trained yet. They go when they're ready, I think. I have no idea on the technical ways to do it, but from experience, waiting until he was ready was what worked for us.

my son 6/30/07 isn't fully potty trained yet,i'd say for the last 4-5 months now he has been diaper free during the day but when it comes to bed time he still needs a diaper.in the last few weeks he's been getting up a couple times during the night to use the potty so he's getting there! Every child is different when they are ready you'll know

My Leo is potting trained and now wears underwear even to bed. Last night was his first accident but only because I gave him juice about 30 minutes before bed. We will not be doing that again but otherwise he is okay. He still doesn't know how to wipe after he does number 2 but we are working on that.

My daughter luckily has been potty trained for about 2 years now. She stopped wearing diapers before her 2nd birthday. I was oh so very grateful because a month after her birthday I had twin girls so only having those 2 in diapers was much better than having a 3rd in them as well!

We are in between and its so stressful. My son will not wet his pants at daycare but comes home and wets his pants and also wets his bed at night. I just started having him sleep in Goodnights because i was washing his clothes and sheets every morning....

We can finally say we are potty trained in this house! =D
He kinda did it himself.. I'm the mom that doesn't push them to do anything they don't want to do.. I let him decide when was right. And he did.. Almost overnight! One morning, he came out in his room doing the "sumo wrestler walk" ((you know, the one where they've exploded the nighty pull up and dont want it touching them! haha)) and I said to him "You know Bubba, that if you would poo in the potty that wouldn't happen and hurt you like that" and seemingly the next morning woke up with a dry pull up and went and took care of business on the potty. Since then ((almost 4 months now)) we have only had one pee pee accident.
We've even been through the dreaded viral infection while potty training and he passed with flying colors! Granted, Mommy was VERY tired the next day from the up and down of wiping everytime.. But I was SO proud of him!

My daughter is potty trained, the odd night time accident. I guess that is to be expected. According to the mom's (my mother and mother in law) she was late getting trained however I think 2 1/2 is fine!

Hi all.
Mine is trained. Thank goodness! Took a lot of applause for every time he got it right though. And later on all the friends and family knew when they had to cheer, lol. Have to say it goes easier when they have little friends going through the same thing. They love to copy each other! Good luck.

WE ARE! I say we because it was a team effort. But she's finally trained. i admit, we used marshmallows as an incentive to use the potty, because the problem was not her knowing how to use it or when to use it, she just couldn't be bothered if she was involved in some other activity. so we had to give her a really good reason to want to do it. we don't usually have candy/sweets at home, and she had just discovered and become enchanted with marshmallows, so it worked out well (we used minis, too). by the time the bag was gone, she didn't need the marshmallows anymore, it had become habit. yay!

hayden was pretty much out of nappies on his 2nd birthday! i wasnt even going to bother trying until he was 2 1/2 (summer time) but i had the potty in the toilet for when my friends son came over one day hayden just took his nappy off and went and sat on it.... i thought ok maybe he wants to go so whenever someone in the house went to the toilet we asked hayden if he wanted to go to he would toddle off take his nappy off and sit there and have a chat with you sometimes with a result sometimes not but within about 6 weeks he was out of nappies!!! but all kids are different my daughter wasnt fully trained till 4 and a half my other son was almost 3 and our 18month old shows no interest...... my friend has a 3 and a half year old who shows no intrest in the toilet/potty process at all..... they all do it in their own time dont push it they will eventually get there! :)

My daughter was potty trained at 2 1/2 years in Dec 2009. I tried a few times before that but she wasn't interested. Then I had my 2nd daughter and all of a sudden my 2 1/2 year was interested. They have to be interested before you even start potty training.

My daughter has been potty trained since she was 22 months. She wanted to be like her big brother and use a big toilet. She doesn't wear diapers at all anymore either which took a while to convince her she didn't need them but i got there in the end.

Emily has been potty trained since 26 December 2009, she now goes to the toilet herself and washes her hands. We help her wipe herself still. However, she is still not night trained I don't think she is ready yet as her nappies are still quite wet in the morning.

I'm a stay at home mom and my kids aren't in daycare. After many potty training experiments the one that worked wonders for me was taking my daughter to the bathroom every hour. We would sit there for about 4 mins before she would say "I just can't go now mommy" then one day she just started running to the bathroom without me. Plus what also helped was knowing that if i just gave her some juice or water i knew she would have to go soon.

My son is potty trained!! It took a while. He was good at going pee pee but not poo poo. That took some practice. I finally got some cloth training underwear and it didn't take long. He would come ask me for a diaper. He finally stopped having accidents about a month before he turned 3. I had a new baby on the way and everyone said that he would fall back, but he didn't!!! We have only had two accidents at night too!!!

My son started potty training as soon as he turned 2.. it was a roller coaster year for him in succeeding the whole potty-training thing. Currently he goes all day in underwear and does fine , but when it comes to the night he's been waking up wet again... it's sooo frustrating especially because he was past that point. all of sudden it started happening again about 3 weeks ago.

Sometimes it just takes longer for some kids. Mine is fully potty trained, no diapers at bedtime either. But. This didn't happen until recently. We'd been working on it for a long time before but she just didn't care about wetting herself. Then one day it just clicked and she had no problems holding her pee and poo and going in the toilet. I don't even feel responsible for this triumph, it seriously seemed like one day she decided it was time and she did it herself haha. We're very happy to say the least. No more diapers!!! It feels like we got a pay raise ha!!
