I have two children and was successful with the first but having a harder time now that my older daughter is fluent in English. She prefers to speak it and then it makes me use more English at home because I am more comfortable speaking it as well. I know I should enforce the second language, but it feels that both of them find that it's too much work. Any opinions?

I am Russian, my husband is an American. We speak English at home and my son goes to pre-K full time; all of his friends speak English. I try to speak Russian to him as much as possible, but he prefers English. He understands most of what I am saying, but replies in English. He would only use short sentences in Russian. I am not sure how to help him speak Russian without forcing him. He does like watching Russian cartoons and I try to play Russian songs on a CD while we drive. I don't care if he ever reads Dostoevski in Russian, I just want him to speak.
