Help! My 8 month old refuses to eat veggies. His mouth puckers tight anytime he gets a whiff. He eats fruits just fine. I know it takes 10 times trying before a baby takes a liking to a new food and I keep trying but no luck any suggestions?

My daughter hates the green veggies but she is good with carrots, sweet potatoes and what night. I would just keep trying. At this age maybe mush up some of the veggies you eat. might like them better than the jarred food.

I had this same problem a little while ago with my little one. We make all of his food at home instead of buying jar food. The best solution we came up with was to mix fruits and veggies together to sweeten the taste, keeping a higher ratio of veggies to fruit. Sometimes mixing with cereal or formula helped. He is beginning to eat them again slowly, but only what he really likes (sweet potatoes and green beans). It's frustrating, I know, but remember it's only a stage he's going through.

Have you TRIED the veggies..... wicked gross!  Well the green bean and the peas anyway.  My son wont eat them either. However when I mashed up a fresh pea off my own plate and gave it to him he loved it.  From the jar he eats carrots, squash, sweet potato,  I have not tried the pumpkin but if I find it I will.  Some veggies just mush better than others.  If you are truly worried mash some fresh ones up and offer them I bet you will see a difference.  We did.

Try putting veggies toward the back of the spoon and fruit on the tip, maybe it will "trick" him into trying it

Their tastes change all the time.  Don't worry about it - just try again in a few weeks, and if he still doesn't like it try again in a few weeks, etc. etc.  At this age they're getting most of their nutrition from milk/formula anyway.  Don't stress about it!

I found giving my daughter sweet vegies such as sweet potatoe, sweet corn and butternut pumpkin helpful, and then you can also add other vegies to it to hopefully mask the taste of the ones they don't like.  Hope this helps.
