Anyone feeding meats yet?

i tried some home ground turkey and she hated it!!! anyone have any luck with jarred foods or should i just keep tryin?

No meat yet. no finger foods yet. her ped said to wait a bit longer since she is so tiny! Wow I can't belive that you all are feeding them so much meat already.

Aiden really didn't like the chicken babyfood either. He actually gagged at every bite, so I just stopped trying. Haven't given him anymore meats since then.

My son started eating the meat/veggie mixes.  He really likes them!  We've only had turkey and chicken.  Tried plain meat in the jar and he wanted nothing to do with it!

My doctor told me not to give my baby plain meats until 9 months.  I have given her the mixed meats with vegetables.  She doesn't care for them much though.  They usually don't the first couple of times.

my doc told me the other day to start, as they should have at least 2 servings a day of meat by 8 mos...

My 71/2 month old daughter started meats at 7 months, and i just mix the meats in her vegies or you can buy ones already mixed together for 6 months and up.

And my daughter just loves it that way,or another advice is to cook and grind real meats we would eat and mix it with some vegies.Because the baby food meats are not so great tasting if you taste it,thats all the advice my baby's health nurse gave me and it worked for me.

I think you can start meat at 7 months. Vegies at this age should be mashed but meat I think is meant to be pureed to start with. You can only give it a go and see what happens!
I tried chicken with some pasta and a little bit of apricot chicken sauce (all mixed up together) and my 7 month old quite liked it.
Haven't tried any other meats yet (apart from jar food) but will try tuna next mixed with avocado and ricotta (a suggestion from another mum).

Mine eats purity, nestum and then I wil give him chicken and he love to eat patatos.

I'm all about gerber, because I don't have time to make my own! But, yes, I've given my daughter turkey, chicken, beef, as well as the mixed dinners... she does just fine as long as you warm it up first!! Maybe try that!

Hi!! Yes I give my son meat every day, it depends what we are having but he has eaten, beef, chicken, lamb and fish (so really everything but pork) lol I now make it lumpy instead of pureed. But then my son started solids at 11 1/2 weeks (we had no choice :( )

I have yet to meet a baby that liked the jarred plain meats. I just skip them until they've done all the fruits and veggies then I fed the mixed ones like beef casserole etc or grind it up with some veggies in the processor.

I buy extra chicken and mix it in the food processor with peas or potatoes. He loves it. It's way better than the canned foods.

Our doctor said not to rush with replacing formula with solids... the most nutrition a baby can get is from first, breastmilk, and second, formula.

iv tried chicken and mince but i purred it then just mixed it in with normal food as ds doesnt like chuncks of meat yet, he will eat chunks of veg, potatoes peas etc.
