My little guy LOVES to nap. He doesn't love to go down but once he is asleep he sleeps an average of 2+ hours twice a day. Sometimes even longer if I let him go but often I have to get him up!! He is super active when awake so I always blame it on that but I often wonder if he is sleeping too much. What is everyone else experiencing??

how much solid food is he eating? spencer eats a whole thing of vegeables at night and about half a cup of rice cereal or oatmeal. in the morning he has fruit and in the afternoon he's been eating about a whole jar of some kind of meal. lol. just make sure he's not going to bed hungry! :)

Ky sleeps from 8pm - 6:45am (we usually have to wake him up to get him ready for daycare). Then he usually takes about 3 - 4 hours worth of naps throughout the day as well. So, 14 - 15 hours worth of sleep per day total. I don't think it matters how much they sleep at this point.. as long as they're getting what they need!

I can't get my 8 mth old to fall asleep before 10:30 pm and he still wakes up about 3 times a night. He usually takes a late morning nap around 11:30 am for 30 min to an 1 hr and 1 late afternoon to early evening nap for about the same time period. I'm very jealous of other moms who have children who sleep through most of the night and take long naps. ;(

Seems like all babies here are doing well. Bianca sleeps through the night from around 8:30ish to 8am, then goes down around 10:30 for a 2 hour sleep. then she goes down again around 3:30 for an hour to an hour and a half.

seems every baby has a different sleeping patern :-) Johanna takes 3 naps, 15 min after daddy goes to work around 9:30 am a noon nap that lasts anywhere between from 30 min to 90 min and 30 min nap around 5 or 6 pm... then she "sleeps" fro 10 pm to 7 am (she does wake up onces at 2am for a feed and at 6 am to go to bed with us.)

My daughter Nakita sleeps from 6:30-7:00pm till 6-6:30am and then has 3 naps during the day. One after breakfast about 7-7:30am then another either after her bottle at 10am or after her lunch at 12pm (depends how long she sleeps for at the first nap) and then she always goes down for a nap after her arvo bottle at 2-2:30pm. I've been thinking I would like her to just have 2 longer naps like your son does but she doesn't want to change and it works for her so I'm just going with the flow. There is no right or wrong way-just whatever works for the both of you.

Be thankful!! It sounds like my 8 1/2 montth old is like most 2-3 naps a day lasting from 20 min -1 hr. But he sleeps 10-12 hous at night and that is a blessing!! I woulnd't worry until he is not sleeping at all.

My little guy sleeps between one and two hours in the morning and then if I am lucky he might sleep another hour in the afternoon.  Lately he has been teething again and will not sleep longer than 20-30 min when I put him down for a nap but he might sleep an hour if I hold him :)

My daughter was not a good napper until recently. But at this age they should be taking 2 naps a day at an hour and a half each nap. So it sounds like you little man is right on track. An hour and a half to two hours is just fine. You are a lucky lady. It took me 8 months to finally get her to sleep longer than 30 minutes each nap.

my little fella sleeps from 6:30p-6a and takes 2 2hr naps during the day (9-11a and 2-4p). Now, I have no idea if that's 'right', since he's my 1st and only child so far... But he seems to be doing well w/ it for now. We've been on that schedule for about 2 months now... I'm sure he's due for a change any day now!

Wow, well my daughter sleeps from 7:30pm-7am, then has a half hour to hour nap in the morning, then around 3pm she has anywhere from a half hour - hour and a half nap.  The morning is usually only half an hour, so when she sleeps for an hour I am so grateful!

Sounds like mine. She usually sleeps all night and takes 2-3 naps a day. At least one of them is usually over 2 hours, and sometimes two of them are long like that.

My daughter sleeps all night...from 8pm till 7ish in the morning. She usually naps 3 x's a day. First nap is usually 30 min to 1 hr. Her mid-day nap is usually anywhere from 30 min to 2&1/2 hrs. And her late nap is about 20 to 30 mins. Sometimes we only have 2 naps a day, and they are usually an hour or so in the morning and a 2&1/2 hour afternoon nap. The 3rd nap usually depends on how early she woke up from her midday nap before her bedtime (4 hours is her max awake time). She's so unpredictable! You're lucky to have s son that sleeps so good. I don't really care about the lengths of her naps...I'm just really glad that she sleeps through the night!!!!
