We are having the same problem.  We are in the process of ordering room darkening shades...I don't know if that will help yet though!! lol  I will have to try being patient and rocking and laying him back down...or a naptime routine as one of you mentioned.  Its hard to know what each child needs,,,they are all so different!

My little one will only nap on my lap- but nurses and goes right to bed at night in his crib! It puts a huge damper on the short amount of time I could be getting things done around the house "baby free". I'm glad to hear that other moms are having the same issue!

Repeat Repeat Repeat. I had the same problem with my son. I could put him in the swing, on the couch, on my bed, on the floor no problem; but forget his crib. I started with one nap a day in crib....varried from 5 min to 1 hr before he fussed. then two naps... eventually he liked the quietness of his room. the mobile helped at first to distract him... now i have a "naptime cd" i play at naptime. i kinda have a nap routine as well as a nite routine haha. but hey, it works; and i get some stuff done around the house more often!

We had this exact same problem! We were just consistent, like Michelle, always putting her back into the crib...trying to convince her that she could nap there too! It took a long time but my husband was a huge help! I was bad and would give in the odd time, which did me no favors! :D

We had this problem when we first moved our son to his crib after using the co-sleeper. Whenever he would wake up I would rock/nurse him until he fell back asleep then put him back in the crib. I had to do this MANY times until he got the message that that's where he sleeps now. I would do it for as long as the nap should last and then just let him wake up and play. Now he sleeps just fine there! Good luck!

I've tried different locations in the house for her naps, but if she's alone it doesn't work. She'll only nap while nursing on my lap, or if I lay down in bed with her and she nurses to sleep, or if she's moving in the stroller or car.

At night I nurse her and put her in her crib and she's fine. I find this very strange!

i have the opposite problem as my daughter naps in the crib but won't sleep there at night. not sure why she doesn't want to nap there.. maybe she just needs a different place to differentiate day and night.. sorry i am of no help
